What's with Van der Poel, almost two minutes behind and #140?

Ganna, going like a motor bike. Excellent ride - two fastest times in TA ever - and it surely is a good start of the year for him. ps. Ridiculous helmets are obviously not necessary to produce good times. Something for Visma and others to think about.

    Strade Bianche 2025, March 8, one-day classic (men's)

Great pics! Last ascent, le Tolfe and some others are really steep but if you have the legs - like MVDP 2021 - it's no problem. The course isn't that technical, particularly if you race it with some headroom. Yet, full gas and at the speeds the pros are going it's obviously not that easy. I...

SB is an absolute favorite with beautiful amazing settings. I rode the Sportive last year together with 8.000 others the day before the pros and watched Pogacar pass several minutes before the rest the day after. Really enjoyed it!

If correct that indicates a higher Vlamax which in turn makes your durability lesser. In principle you would like to run as much as possible on fat for every effort, which of course is not possible, but still.

I'm hoping and routing for MVDP. If a showdown happens it should be worth watching!

Well unless we’re missing something major different between WC and Strade there’s little chance of MVDP winning. Could GRAVEL be that difference?

    Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne 2025, March 2 (1.Pro)

That was boring. Now KBK rarely produces upsets so let’s hope for something more exciting the coming weekends

Exactly that. Waltzing around in the Tour instead of doing focused MTB training sounds like a recipe for disaster. If he was the proven best MTB rider currently then maybe but instead he has proven that despite being the all time greatest CX rider, one of the ever best classics/1D riders and a...

I thought I heard he was not going to the Tour in order to focus on MTB?

Me too. Joris is very skilled and has very good power. He also seems to be a modest and likable person.

What’s wrong with those Pauwels riders? Both of them seem to have an attitude problem. MVTH yapping at Kuhn and pushing here and there. Iserbyt wasn’t particularly annoying. Just his normal demeanor.

    Most memorable doped perfomances?

That one is so memorable. Was with the family in Riccione and watched every stage of the Tour at the hotel terrace. The complete crack and then the comeback the day after. Classic at comparative level as Ben Johnsson winning 100 metres in the Olympics
