I hope they'll modify the motorcycles just in case Froome peaks on thursday in L'Alpe d'Huez. Would be a shame if he lost the tour because he had to break during the ascent.
:D
The difference is that Bolt was world class since he's 15 years old. Many people who are into the subject argue he is a rare talent. Of course he can still dope. Most people agree though that he would still rule if everybody would be clean.
Froome just popped up on the screen 2 years ago and...
Well, no. Usain Bolt is a natural talent, he's been excellent since his youth. Froome just popped up suddenly.
I don't say Bolt is clean but he can't be compared to Froome.
And most readers possibly believe such nonsense.
But hey, I play badminton myself sometimes and manage quite well without doping, so there must be some truth in there.
It's most likely there will be no tactical need for Froome to go full speed at that stage. He'll go full speed on the TT and stay with the other GC riders at the Alpe.
Sky might try to give a stage win at Alpe to Porte.
#2 I find very interesting. In the Armstrong era people always assumed LA must be on some unknown super substance. All evidence so far only links him to the usuall PEDs, mainly EPO and BBs. Do people here believe there is something else in use? Do you believe Armstrong had access to any other...
You must be very disappointed with the last 17 years of TDF then;)
I'd be very curious to see what a such a fair fight between favourites in the TDF actually looks like. Maybe one day...
I didn't read every page of this thread but I agree that "show and drama" is a important part of the TDF. Froome's performance on Ventoux was an excellent show and the doping discussion it triggered is certainly a necessary (and fun) part of the soap opera charm of cycling.
People are...
It's a small piece of the puzzle and Froome's puzzle has a lot of fitting pieces.
People used the same arguments to defend Armstrong during his reign even though it was obvious from the beginning that he wasn't clean.
