That makes it more suspicious though. You should experience way more fatigue from a grand tour, than 3 minutes of running or pole vaulting, and yet all season, he's as fresh a a pole vaulter.

Why do you think his natural ability increased so much in 2024?

H His fans will say he does have bad days, and then give examples where he finished 2nd, in the same time as the winner.

Yes, and that was a huge performance. Go back and read what people were saying about Vingegaard back then. And yet today Pogi was a lot faster.

Destroying the field by 2-3 minutes is huge. I think you've just mentally normalized Pogi's, otherwise not normal, domince in your head, and maybe underestimated a couple of other guys.

They would look even less crazy if every one else were also closer, but that's not what happened.

Riis' record was made on a unipuerto stage by the way, so today was probably a stronger performance overall, although I'm still surprised he didn't beat it. Apparently some way off his level from the final week of last year, so at that level he easily would have. Maybe they've saved the best for...

As far as I understand, he's still the coach of several other UAE riders. Why would they still use him, if he's such a *** coach?

Apparently didn't quite get Riis' time, but was way ahead for a lot of the climb. Maybe he ran out of battery at some point, or his hematocrit was only 63%. Edit: Or just severely hampered by the crash yesterday.

Because when you're in your mid 20's and you've been training intensely for many years, the margins for improvement become tiny. That's why Pogi's sudden huge leap in level last year is such a mystery.

Will be minutes to Vinge and Riis probably. See you in the other part of the forum

That obviously can't be right. I burn nearly as much just watching the race on my couch. Those numbers would be impressive on an e-bike. Not possible on a normal bike. Something must not have been calibrated right.

Dude, just tell them that you started heat training and doing some more intervals, and everyone calling out your sudden 10% bump in wattage will be called conspiracy theorist by all the others! ;)

    Tadej Pogacar and Mauro Giannetti

It doesn't add up. Strength training, heat training and some different intervals, do not account for a 10% increase in power. It's the law of diminishing returns. When you're already training a lot, the benefits of increased and/or optimized training get smaller and smaller. The only thing that...
