    2011 Tour De France Stage 17 (20/7/2011): Gap > Pinerolo, 179km

Contador could win a Giro stage but he was generous and let Tiralongo win. The reason of the abandon of Tiralongo is unknown.

Maybe Lampre is going to close the gap for Cunego.

If Mollema has found his climbing legs again than the other guys in the escape can shake it. The first dutch victory since Pieter Weening in 2005?

    2011 Tour De France Stage 17 (20/7/2011): Gap > Pinerolo, 179km

That first category 3 climb is quite steep. In mine opinion a good moment for Movistar to drop Cavendish, the sprint is just 10 km after that hill. Km 71.5 - Côte de Sainte-Marguerite - 2.8 km climb to 7.4 % - Category 3

What in your mind makes for a great Tour de France?

the biggest problem is the mentality of the gc riders. There is no Pantani of Vino who have the guts to attack earlier and make the race attractive for the fans.

    Brotherly Love

I totally agree with Basso. But the main problem was that they didn't let it explode on the bottom of the climb. Thats the reason why guys like Voeckler, Peraud and Rolland could hang on. The pace in the beginning of the climb was to slow to make a big difference. Hopefully there will be more...

    Vino Comeback Thread

So sad that we never will see Vino again in the Tour. He is a inspiration for every young bike rider. In his way of riding of course ;) His bravery and fighting spirit will be missed. Thanks for all the moment of pleasure you gave to me Vino.

What in your mind makes for a great Tour de France?

The Tour of 2003 was Unbelievable. The domination of Petacchi in the sprints, the great victory of Mayo on Alpe d' Huez, the time trial of Ullrich and of course the duel between Armstrong and Ullrich in the Pyrenees... nostalgia! That race made me cycling addict. Especially that time trial...

Contador will be strong, don't worry about that.

    2011 Tour de France, Stage 12: Cugnaux - Luz-Ardiden, 209 km

I'm very curious about the time of the favorites on the climb to Luz-Ardiden. The climb is comparable with the Alpe d' Huez, maybe a little less hard. But the road on Luz-Ardiden is quite bad, and Alpe d' Huez is good tarmac. Does anyone know the climb time of Armstrong in 2003? About the...
