He's with UAE since 2021. They (should) know him well enough to know how to manage/motivate him. He came to the Vuelta, knowing he was leaving the team. If UAE doesn't know how to handle one of their athletes, who's been with them for 4 years, then they are incompetent.

He likely has a similar contract to Almeida. In the interview he gave to a portuguese newspaper, before the Tour, he said he would work for Poga, but in the Vuelta it would be different even if Pogacar was there. So my take is that both Almeida and Ayuso have leadership for one GT per season...
