Tour of Britain 2011- 11th-18th September

Got a pretty good view of the finish. That finish is all about who gets into the final curves infront. Below is a still from a video I took at the finish. Enjoyed my day in Stoke - didn't think I'd ever find myself saying that!

Sky/Froome Talk Only (No Way Sky Are Cleans?)

I doubt they're demanding results from DB, particularly not in the Vuelta which means naff all outside cycling. Sky doesn't have much of a presence outside of the UK and Italy and News Corp doesn't have a single holding inside Spain. I recall an interview last year where DB was massively...

Tour of Britain 2011- 11th-18th September

Shall be out on Stage 3 in Stoke...looking forward to it. For London vantage points, I found a brilliant spot a few years ago at the bottom of Lambeth Hill just as the race comes out of Blackfriars underpass. It was utterly deserted and footbridge nearby means you can hop over to watch both...

    Wiggins Discussion Thread

Interesting to see Froome single out Wiggins for a nod at the end: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150212348709364 There are only two stages where Cobo conceded time to Wiggins, 1 second on the TTT and 1:41 on the TT. Cobo put time into both Froome and Wiggins on 6 different...

    Wiggins Discussion thread.

@Blackcat: Take it to the Froome Appreciation thread. Team Sky could have backed Froome but then he might have blown up like he's done in the past and Team Sky walk away with nothing. Or they can back Wiggins who's got a Dauphine win this season and a 4th place finish in a GT against a much...

    Vuelta a España Stage 15: Avilés - Anglirú 144km

    Wiggins actually had a lower gear than Froome and Mollema - gear inches calculated below so he might not have been undergeared: Cobo - 34 x 32 - 27.9 Froome - 36 x 28 - 33.8 Wiggins - 38 x 32 - 31.2 Mollema 36 x 28 - 33.8

    Wiggins Discussion thread.

Do we know if Wiggins was dropped today or whether it was the mechanical? We saw Froome edge past him on the seriously steep section before the moto went kaput but he was still in the saddle (once a track rider, always a track rider). Guess we won't know unless a spectator ran alongside...

Sky/Froome Talk Only (No Way Sky Are Cleans?)

All very easy to jump to conclusions...Froome has surprised me as a GC contender, but I've know for a while he can climb and TT albeit inconsistently. I think this is one of the few races we've seen him going full gas, except maybe Castilla y Leon in early season. It's all too easy to look at...

    Power Outputs Contador & Wiggins

I believe Vaughters was talking about his recent attempt on the British 10 mile record which he did in 18 minutes dead. He's previously done 17:58 on the same course. Caused a fair bit of controversy after he used Zipp 1080s on his front wheel which is against the UK's time trialling body; all...

    Power Outputs Contador & Wiggins

British track cycling clean? Good question, they've got a seriously anti-doping stance. Take a look at how David Brailsford is going about selecting riders for Team Sky+ HD...biological passports, interviewing previous teammates, etc. Also look at how David Millar will never be allowed to...

    Power Outputs Contador & Wiggins

Really interesting discussions here. Particularly with the climbing rates! Contadors performance really is off the charts. Check out the video with Vaughters on Wiggins which mentions some power outputs: http://vimeo.com/5449139 Also his track from the opening TT on Garmin Connect...
