This stage is significantly more difficult than 2010, 2014 and 2015. There is little chance of a bunch sprint. GVA, Sagan and Terpstra will go for the win dragging Nibali, Fuglsang, Dumoulin and Thomas with. GC riders will be distanced. The question is who will they be.

Re: Re: Based on recent form I would say it is accurate. When last did Valverde actually fight for a win in a GT? Maybe one can class him with Uran, Landa et al. and maybe Nibali can level with Dumoulin. Dumoulin is a more complete GT rider than Quintana without a doubt.

Dumoulin is a very likeable rider. Not boring at all. He is going to win this. The race has barely started and his form is on the rise.
