Phil Liggett: Cycling will survive Armstrong disgrace

Interesting how that, now the deceit has been uncovered, the titles of Armstrong and Landis's first books ring very true. Lance's story was never about the bike or cycling: it was only about Lance. And Landis? Postively False.

Phil Liggett: Cycling will survive Armstrong disgrace

Here is the link: http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1704069/Phil-Liggett-Cycling-will-survive-Armstrong-disgra "It's hard to say, but Lance Armstrong has done a lot of good as well during his 12 years at the top," Liggett said on Tuesday. Obviously difficult for Phil Liggett to deal with...

    Armstrong's financial situation

"Stated in another way, because Armstrong knew his doping was against the rules, he couldn’t have believed he had an “unrestricted right” to the bonus payments." Since Lance never failed a drug test and still affirms his innocence, surely his arrogance would extend to believing he had an...

The Women in the Lance Armstrong Doping Scandal

Betsy A is valiant woman. I am happy to see her exonerated.

    Rock racing returns

Bravo. Now if the kits included brass knuckle gloves and the bikes spiked wheels, then we could make professional cycling fitting for the Roman Coliseum.

Should Andy skip the Tour next year & do the Giro instead?

Andy lost the 2011 TdF in the Pyrenees. He should have attacked since he is not a top 5 time trailer. Easy to advise after the 2011 TdF, but the truth remains. If Andy thought :57 minutes was a sufficient lead heading into the final TT, then I would like to smoke the same quality weed. Cut it...

How good BMC/Evans. The perfect Tour?

Great anecdote. Thanks. Cadel seems the most worthy TdF champion in many years.

How good BMC/Evans. The perfect Tour?

I want to believe. Truly. It would be great for CE, Australia, the TdF, and for American, and everywhere else, want to be's.

How good BMC/Evans. The perfect Tour?

Hats off to Cadel Evans and BMC. A very intelligently raced TdF IMO. Actually, what we, as Americans, wished were true of Armstrong and Landis. How I hope CE is clean. It would go a long way to restoring credibility to the race if true. I wanna believe it even though I was cheering for Andy...

Official Lance Armstrong Thread **READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING**

If it cost Livestrong $50K, then we should be able to reveal this due to public disclosure requirements of 501(c)(3) organizations. May require digging and specific requests, but someone should pursue this. Private inurement is a big no-no.

Any evidence? Should be easier to produce than Fed leaks, eh? He did refer to himself as an old man at the Livestrong challenge ride in Davis, CA recently.

Official Lance Armstrong Thread **READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING**

Yep, Lance really has nothing to worry about until he sees black helicopters. Perhaps Lance isn't squirming at all. Maybe his legal team's request for an investigation will be the springboard from which LA will seek public office. Hmmm.

    TDF Stage 14: Saint-Gaudens - Plateau de Beille 168km

I think so. I have informally polled many cycling fans in Oregon and California (SF Bay area) and there seems to be general consensus about favoring any winner but Contador. I like Evans, but was impressed by Frank Schleck's effort at the end of stage 12.

    TDF Stage 14: Saint-Gaudens - Plateau de Beille 168km

A recovery without a positive for a banned substance would be a miracle. Go Schleck brothers, Evans .... Anybody but AC.

    Minimum Required Performance Level (MRPL).

Many seem to want to point to the small amount of clen detected in AC's sample. That is not the issue. The rules clearly have a zero tolerance for this substance and every UCI cyclist is held to this standard. AC and his handlers are trying to argue the small amount detected supports his...
