Where to watch Liege Bastogne Liege?

2015 update - the pub on the green has shut! Well and truly boarded up when we got there this year.

    Elite male WC road race

Based on what I've seen so far of the racing I'm not sure Gerrans will take this. If it's a 40 rider sprint there will probably be a better sprinter left; he's not going to go off on a solo attack, that's a fairly safe assumption; and given what's gone down this year I don't think a small group...

Ponferrada 2014 World Championships, Sep. 21st-28th

UCI have got to sort out these national team jerseys. They only wear them once, why can't we do like American sports and just have the same jersey for each country every year? I seriously spend about half the road race trying to figure out which country is which. Best jerseys by a mile are...

    Il Lombardia 2014

Agree. RCS seem to want to keep the word Giro exclusively for the Giro d'Italia, hence Giro di Lombardia becomes il Lombardia, Giro del Piemonte became Gran Piemonte and the resurrected Giro del Lazio came back as Roma Maxima. I stick to the old names personally.

    Wish they'd bring back Zurich.

I agree that it is all about the Tour in Germany and nothing else. I remember some of those editions of the Tour of Germany that just seemed desperate to copy the Tour de France. They copied all the jerseys, you had high mountain stages desperate to copy the Alps even though that meant spending...

Kloeden too. Helps that they were all winning jerseys and getting on the podium.

    2014 19th Vattenfall Cyclassics: 246km, August 24

Germans are in a strop with cycling because of you know what. Germany is like a nation of Rabobank - played more than their part in contributing to the bad old years, but decide when things look to be improving that they're not playing any more, picked up their bicycle and went home. I don't...

Rui Costa also won with two team mates.

WCRR 2014 Ponferrada number of spots for each nation

Gesink is a good shout if he can gain form. These routes aren't that dissimilar to the Canadian races that he often does well in. Will Meersman get a look in, or crowded out? There's also GVA but you can't have everybody being a leader, someone has to do some work.

WCRR 2014 Ponferrada number of spots for each nation

I think it's a race that suits Gerrans. But I really hope we don't get a race like this year's Liege, which was absolutely dreadful.

WCRR 2014 Ponferrada number of spots for each nation

Yeah I'd agree entirely with that list, plus a few like Cancellara and EBH (silver on the Valkenburg 2012 course) too. I'm not surprised Team GB are leaning towards working for Swift.

WCRR 2014 Ponferrada number of spots for each nation

Sort of a cross between San Remo and Amstel, I reckon. Similar number of climbs to Amstel, but more resembling the San Remo climbs in gradient/being a bit of a drag rather than steep. Chances are the champion is someone who does well at that those races, probably more a 2010 type race than...

    WC Ponferrada 2014. Altimetry

They used to let the champion race as an extra but I think they have stopped that now. I definitely remember Spain having 13 rather than the standard 12 in Verona in 04

WCRR 2014 Ponferrada number of spots for each nation

I read it the same as Netserk: The nations that have fewer than 9 riders classified in the individual UCI WorldTour can complete their remaining athlete quota, by adding the places it would have received through their respective continental circuit – the UCI Africa Tour, UCI America Tour...
