He also hasn't got much of a support team. Bora had mostly brought riders to support Hindley.

If Vingegaard were to eat a proper Dürüm, he would double his weight. Every time I see that guy I wanna make a donation for hunger relief.

Considering that Germany and France have gone to war over Alsace-Lorraine since forever. I would venture to guess that if there were any, most are a bit kaputt.

You can't really expect more fireworks after the last two stages. It's the end of a three week tour and most people are running on fumes by now.

The Alsace region was intially German, upon the split of Charlemagne's realm into three kingdoms. It then went to France, went back to Germany after the Prussian-Fremch war of 1870 and then back to France after WW I.

Yep, he ate a mouthful of asphalt on the descent from the Peyresourd in 2010. His bike was totalled and all team cars had already passed. He borrowed a kid's bike to go on. Some 15 km up the road CSC had left a spare bike with a Policeman, so he smashed it for 15K on this glorified tripod until...

A neutral bike is a very temporary solution, so while you might be able to make do with a too small bike for 10 minutes until a team car comes round, no such like with a small shoe if you have feet the size of Luxembourg. I think Jens Voigt once nearly murdered himself down a mountain on a...

They should make some parts of the bike universal, i.e. all shoe and pedal manfuacturers have to use the same system. Then the eff-up with Politt wouldn't have happened. Neutral bikes are as pointless as a one-legged man in an arse-kicking contest if every manufacturer uses a different...

They'll have much better legs though tomorrow having spared themselves the ridiculous romp today.

It would be hilarious if Campenaerts ends up preventing an almost default Philipsen win for the second day in a row.

My vote would go to Politt - coming back after such an untimely mechanical deserves a reward.

He has a bit of a sense of entitlement, hasn't he? Same goes for Philipsen and his Armstrong memorial antics.

If Philipsen makes it to the break it will implode. No point in going on if that guy's in it.
