    Simple doping question

I've always been intrigued as to how all these cyclist seem to get away with doping. We all know WADA can't test them all at all times, but drug test avoidance is something these guys have developed into an art. Case and point: Chris Froome. The guy's story about how he made it up the ranks...

Richie Porte - what do we know about him?

Re: It's right down nasty. His style is so biomechanically off that it's odd. I imagine it to be the style of a person who's ridden the stationary bike all their lives and then switch on to the road bike out of the blue.

Re: Re: Yes, sports-induced asthma is more prevalent in athletes for obvious reasons. And yes, it's what's inside the inhaler that is being questioned. Why is it exactly that you're quoting me?

Richie Porte - what do we know about him?

Whoever's done any competitive racing at all knows how difficult it is to make any gains in relative performance when at the pinnacle of a rider's career. Your form just plateaus, no matter how hard you try, how many times you peak, whether you go back to "basics," take up or re-take swimming...

    Bjarne Riis, saved by silence?

Riis' demise is going to be a sloooooooow death, isn't it?

Richie Porte - what do we know about him?

You know, you have to hand it to WADA and the UCI for being ingenuous enough to think that the biological passport was going to stop riders from taking stuff. It's like proposing cocaine addicts crazy-glue their nostrils to prevent use of the drug. The way these doping and governing...

Richie Porte - what do we know about him?

With the marginal gains protocol you can hold the peak indefinitely. In reality, until your kidneys and liver fail, but who cares about the long term health effects of the new PED when you're taking off like a rocket now? Why come off?

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Re: Watch the Mt Ventoux stage in 2013. I saw Froome take a puff at least twice, once right before his big acceleration and then again once he was clear of Contador. My brother pointed it out to me. I had no idea he had asthma up to that point. And my brother immediately said "that's not...

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

Alberto is in 2013 shape right now. Whether he's going to be able to improve from that or not is what's going to make him a legend, or not. If he loses the Giro the season't over.

Teams & Riders Froome Talk Only

Re: Re: Two thumbs up. My brother has sports-induced asthma and whenever we ride and he gets what he calls "a squeeze" he has to stop, puff up, catch his breath, rest for two minutes or so, and then go. How Froome is able to puff up and then accelerate like he does is a mystery to my brother...

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

It amazes me how much of the Lance legacy is still with us. I've never seen or heard a champion being questioned or doubted the way Alberto is. I mean, the guy has won pretty much everything there is to win, and some of the press still present him as a sort of an amateurish hothead who can't...

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

To me it looks and sounds like Alberto just wants to concentrate on the TdF this year. He's a tad overweight and his form is a bit off... Me thinks he wants to pull a Lance this year.

Teams & Riders Alberto Contador Discussion Thread

My opinion is that what Alberto did, indirectly mind you, at last year's Vuelta was just that: an a**whooping of epic proportions. Look, I like Froome, he represents what I like about cycling (does all the talking at the races and has a humble attitude) but to say that he's got Alberto's...
