    Contador's "surprise" attack

Like many threads in this forum, this one has degenerated into LA bashing. When Lance won his 7th tour the clear heir apparent on Discovery/Astana was AC. Bruyneel was already commenting about AC's incredible ability to accelerate while going vertical an ability demonstrated with great success...

Official thread- TDF Stage 7 Barcelone - Andorre Arcalis 224km

The only person who could possibly have matched AC's ability to accelerate in the mountains might have been a relatively untested Andy Schleck. If today is any indication, the race is AC's to win or loose. Either way, AC will learn a lot from his teammates this Tour. Knowledge that will serve...

    Have Columbia imploded...?

I know that George is getting older, but it still is hard to find a better support rider in the Tour. Also, George and Lance are really good friends on and off their bikes, but both of them are far too professional to pull the kind of amateur stunt the media might have tried to dramatically...

    Cavendish is the New armstrong

As stage six showed, Cav needs an absolutely flat stage to set up his train and win. As such, he currently has more in common with Britain's great Track stars then great sprinters of the tour. Cav is still young though.

    Have Columbia imploded...?

I think that Cavendish is still too young to finish the Tour as a sprinter. As such, I think he is spending his last few days in the green jersey before Thor, one point back, places it firmly on his back.

Gee, how long did it take you to figure that out. I lost all respect for him the year he promised to ride in support of Greg Lemond, who was clearly the stronger rider, and forced Greg to halt his attack in the mountains and ride in support. I am also the type of fricking American who threatened...

Official thread- TDF Stage 7 Barcelone - Andorre Arcalis 224km

I would have loved to be at Astana's table tonight. The race heads upwards and they are in perfect position to play whatever hand the cycling gods choose to throw at them. The strongest team in the strongest position when the race turns upwards into the mountains. Sastre and the Schlecks vs...

You are Bruyneel: What's your plan? What are your tricks?

With the first mountain stage tomorrow here would be my strategy. Set a blistering pace up to first Cat 1 climb, and if any early cracks appear, send Levi up the road with an early break. Make the other teams try to chase him down. This should set up a great chase up the last climb with Lance...
