    Matti Breschel before la Vuelta started: He reckoned stage 3 is made for him and also thought he could nick the red jersey after that stage. EDIT: At position 65 35 seconds down one of his goals seems a bit far fetched

    Wrong decision in my opinion. Of couse 89 is a massive amount but it would: 1) Put out a letter of intent for future races 2) The tour is almost over, so why not flog the lazy ****s?

    It's a good call. It's a **** take if someone who's close to e.g. the green jersey really digs deep and avoid the grupetto, where the others are only to be faced by a -20 penalty. Eh? -20 points? How does that add up for 99% of the grupetto lads?

    Voeckler has been immense and he deserves a potium spot, bloody well done! Top marks for the Schleck brother and in particular Cadel Evans. As for the rest of the lot competing for the overall, you weren't very good (swearing isn't allowed ;)

    In my humble opinion Contador hasn't got anything in the tank, and the leaders group as a whole look spent.
