    Tragic News

Incredibly sad news. He came across as a genuinely top bloke, and it is tragic that he has been taken so young. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Those photo's from his funeral choked me up :(

    Wiggins Discussion thread.

He really does look in super form, in both stages so far. He was riding the entire front group of his wheel at times, and just looked so easy in doing it. I am starting to warm to him more and more, and Sky as well, now that they pay attention to races all year round. Roll on July and lets...

    Schlecks Depreciation Thread

Even by his standards, this is pretty good. What exactly is there between his ears?

Now Alberto is out, who will win the 2012 Tour de France?

My bad - meant coming 2nd on Ventoux, forgot about Garate. This year's Tour has lots of TT km only really in comparison to recent year's (and other GT's), and even this year it is under 100km total. However, I think that will still be too much for Andy to challenge the podium UNLESS he...

Now Alberto is out, who will win the 2012 Tour de France?

Since his win on Ventoux in that Tour, he has shown absolutely nothing in the big mountains. Given that he has stated his priority for this year is the Olympic TT, I don't see him being a contender at all in July.

    Sky GT Lineup 2012

He did win P-R espoirs back in 2004, so he's always had a bit of talent on the cobbles. As for GT's, I think Froome was always pencilled in for the Vuelta - certainly ahead of the Giro. I hope he is able to put in another good performance like last year. Will Henao also go the Vuelta (as...

    Are There Enough Decent Descents??

It might not have been for the stage finish, but Arroyo's descent in a desperate attempt to keep pink was one of the best rides I've ever seen. As for the OP, GT's should challenge riders in all aspects of cycling, and one of those skills is the ability to descend. Stands to reason therefore...

    Tennis is ridiculous

I read this and couldn't help but laugh. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/tennis/get-fit-the-djokovic-way-it-is-as-hard-as-it-sounds-6297285.html

Tour of Hangzhou added to WorldTour

$$$ What annoys me is that in the last few weeks, we have had some of the Spanish races having to cut days or cancel all together because of funding issues, but rather than get those back on their feet, the UCI bring in another race in China. Surely it would be better if they looked after...

In the UK, some cinemagoers walked out during the film as they had not realised that there would be no speaking in it! http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2012/jan/18/the-artist-silent-film-refunds

Contador contract has ended, where will he sign next?

Ah, presentation sounds familiar. And thanks for the explanation

Contador contract has ended, where will he sign next?

Is he allowed to negotiate a new contract while banned? And can he join a team halfway through a season? Didn't Movistar have to delay their announcement of Valverde for a bit - I think to do with his ban (can't really remember)?

Music! What are you listening to now?

More specifically, only really just discovered him full stop. Got put onto that song by Ingrid Michaelson's cover, which I also love, although it is very different. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUxLK1misbw

    2012 Tour of Qatar (5th - 10th February), 2.HC

Greipel's problem is his positioning - quite often he comes from miles back and just misses out on the win, and he's not the best at finding and following the wheel. When he gets it right though, I believe he is capable of beating Cav, even when Cav is on form. Should be great to watch at the...

2012 Vuelta. The Return of the King.

If you take out Contador, you'd have had a very close battle between Scarponi and Nibbles for the win at last years Giro - not their fault that Contador was at his very best. There'd also have been quite a good scrap for 3rd. Assuming that he keeps himself in shape over the next 6 months, I...
