I also don't see much issue leading Pogacar on the cobbles. Van Aert takes more aggressive lines so it puts a bit of pressure on Pogacar

I don't think Van Aert is doing any more than he needs to. Rolling through at sub threshold pace is unlikely to really hurt him

I think Van Aert should still attack Pogacar on Carrefour. It's rough and twisty, and it's always safer to be solo
