2) For shorter trips, I rent a bike from the shop in the area (research them on the internet)
3) Any good shop will set up the bike to fit you properly (send them the info ahead of time)

Yep, I stand corrected, poor choice of words, thanks for the correction. Still assult, no different than trying to hit those cyclists with a baseball bat.
I carry tools and parts to repair almost any normal break-down. Also, the bike should come apart fairly easily to fit into most cars.
