Breakaway to win this, they started chasing way too late today, and that was the trend as well in the Giro and Tour. Seems like teams can't be bothered with GC stage wins anymore. Maybe Movistar will want to protect the red jersey though.

LottoNL has taken on a stagaire, a Chinese rider from SEG, Zhi Hui Jiang. Doesn't have any notable results, so it is probably for commercial reasons.

No topic for Burgos? Van Poppel took the first stage despite crashing earlier today which left him with a number of abrasions on his back. He was alone and quite far back in the last km, but he moved all the way to the front with ease and won with a few bike lengths. Pretty impressive stuff...

Mollema going well, 8th at about a minute at the second intermediate. He's going to overtake Quintana in GC by a serious margin...

Kruijswijk has confirmed this on Twitter, he will stay for two more years.

Groenewegen had to come from quite far behind, he sprinted for like half a kilometre, really impressive stuff there!
