How many other current riders have been consistently been in the top 5 for the last 10 years? He continues to impress for his consistency.

FINALLY! Cyclocross will become an Olympic winter sport in 2030!

You have to think that part of the calculus that would be coming into play with adding in CX and Cross Country running is the desire to make the Winter Olympics more resistant to climate change. Both sports *can* practiced in true winter (ice and snow) conditions, but don't require it. That...

Driving into cyclists the Emma way

Re: Re: I doubt they think this will stick, but the tactic is probably to wear down the family by revictimizing them through a protracted process until they are willing to take a settlement for less than they deserve. Beside it's probably more profitable for ICBC to pay their in-house legal...

    Tinkoff Saxo drive train

Tinkoff Saxo's normal (as far as Sagan's bikes go) is DuraAce DI2 + FSA KForce Light crank. No SRAM this year. Not 100% this combo is what he was riding today - since there seem to be a few DI2 rider who switch to mechanical for the classics.

    Weight Weenies on here

Probably the best place to drop weight is to look at eliminating redundant parts. Just off hand: tonsils, appendix, at least one finger on each hand and one toe, and most of the ear lobe come to mind. If you're really looking to save grams, there are also a number of parts that come in...

    Zipp recall

Interesting. I know of a few wheelbuilders that walked away from DT a number of years ago (my shop does not use them anymore). Were the cheaper versions just straight gauge or did they do a low cost butted line as well?

    Zipp recall

The only time I've had issues with J-bend spokes breaking at the bends was one a set of wheels that came on a $700 Raleigh One-way that I used for 4 season commuting. Worst set of wheels I've ever owned. 32 hole, wide flange hubs (nothing wrong so far) . . . cheap Chinese spokes, poorly...

    Zipp recall

That can be true. I've got a set of AClass ALX-200 (nothing special, $300 MSRP), but they are built with DTSwiss J bend spokes, the hubs are loose bearing Shimano knock-offs (and use shimano cones), brass nipples, laced 20/24. Not the lightest or stiffest wheel out there, but completely...

Bolt Thru Wheels for Road Training

Many of the tubeless-ready rims don't really have a fully hooked bead since they rely more on the tire bead's interface to the rim bed for keeping the tire in place rather than the mechanical engagement between the bead and the rim hook. So if you use a high pressure road tire, (especially one...

    Zipp recall

I'd agree on the going handbuilt for the highest performance. I'm slowly replacing my factory-builts with handbuilts (some factory builts re-built by hand). I've had far less issues with my handbuilt stuff and when I've have had issues (broken spokes, being knocked out of true), I can just...

Bolt Thru Wheels for Road Training

Stans says the Iron Cross has a max pressure of 45psi. For a tubeless CX tire, this would seem reasonable. But with a tube, I don't see why that would be the limit. Send Stans an email asking what tire pressure with a 28c tire would be acceptable - they're fairly responsive.

Bolt Thru Wheels for Road Training

Easton does some. The EA-90XD uses their 'future proof' hub which is convertible to front and rear thru axle. Otherwise, why not just get a set of narrow 29er MTB wheels?
