Anyone tried the Cane Creek SCX-5 cantilever brakes? Hardly any reviews out there on the 'net. Curious to know how well they work.

Grippy winter training tires? 700 x 23 only!

Hey comrades, Up here in Toronto's autumn and winter, I'm dealing with leaf litter and muck and ice (soon). I like my Serfas Seca tires, but they just don't feel grippy enough on all of this cold season stuff. Problem is I can't get bigger tires on my Tirreno Razza 1000. The rear only...

Novice question about BRAKES: cantilever vs. linear pull or

I don't feel good about my current BRAKES. I ride an 05 Novara Element, with stock parts. The brakes are AVID SHORTY 4's. (Cantilever) Probably has 2000 miles on it, tops. I ride it in dirt and streets with the occasional patches of mud, leaves, muck. I sometimes hitch a trail-a-long bike...

Who will win the 2009 Amstel Gold Race?

Any word on Elmiger? I read that Elmiger crashed in the Paris-Roubaix. Any one know if he's okay? He's a great rider and stands to do very well in the classics if healthy! Please update!

Who will win the 2009 Amstel Gold Race?

What's with Gilbert? Has he even had a top-twenty placing in this race? He's more of a "hard man", no? Not quick ready to handle such huge amounts of climbing I think. This is a really hilly race! Gilbert's best results in related races: 2007 19th in Flèche Wallonne 16th in Liège -...

Who will win Ronde van Vlaanderen? (Flanders)

 QUESTION: How did Chavanel "control" the chase group??? Quote from online Cycling mag: "When he [Devolder] attacked Chavanel kept control of the chase group, allowing Devolder to open up a gap of nearly a minute." I can understand how Devolder's teammates (Chavanel and Boonen)...

    Who will win Paris-Roubaix?

Can the old man win? I would LOVE to see Big George win... but, at a glance, it seems that the old guys don't win the Paris-Roubaix. Roger de Vlaemink, FOUR WINS, won his last at age 30. The one exception I can think of was Gilbert Duclos-Lassalle who was like 37 and 38 when he took home...

    Who will win Paris-Roubaix?

Some of the bigger guns of recent past might not be in the race, or at least not on form. This leaves Boonen as a true favorite. But others might be able challenge the mighty Tomeke. Since we only get 10 slots for a poll I'm trying a strange poll with riders sharing slots.

Who will win Ronde van Vlaanderen? (Flanders)

Thoughts on the Tour of Flanders, anyone? Boonen, Haussler? Davis? Hoste? Devolder? Ballan? Nuyens? Flecha? van Avermaet? Hincapie? Arvesen? Pozzato? Kroon? Seems to me that Boonen and Haussler are on great form. But Haussler is too inexperienced (oops, I said that for MSR too). I'll...

2009 Milan SanRemo PREVIEW: Who will contend?

The Milan Sanremo is often a race between the "punchers" (a la Gilbert) and the sprinters. A glance back at past winners shows that its usually a bunch sprint at the end--not a huge bunch, but still a thicket of riders. I see the following riders as favorites: Boonen, Allan Davis, Pozzato...
