All the stars aligned for Alejandro today as I thought Nibali would be a real threat for the podium. Finally a podium place 10 years after his first stage win at Courcheval.

He does love the heat. Hard to say whether this victory is a sign of good form though as he didn't compete against other big names. Will be good to see him don the Spanish jersey in the tour.

Its safe to say Alejandro is pretty much back to his best form , able to be competitive over 250+ km and still have the punch at the end , which he didn't have for the Ardenne classics. I would like to see him ride the Giro Di Lombardia as he is perfectly suited to this race.
