With Denz and Van Djike in the break it could be a good strategy, especially because Pidcock does not have a really good team

Indeed tactics were not pin point, and Remco seemed quite frustrated (could have saved himself the brake test maybe). Anyway tommorow has another hard climb, he could still try to win GC. Also happy to see Gloag at the front. Showed a lot of pontential way back in 2020 U23 Giro, but I think his...

That's ***. I don't really know a lot about nerve damage, hope it can be cured somehow

I built his win in 25 minutes all out effort were he was dominant, in stages with a lot of climbing he never managed to drop Mas IIRC. He is probably still able to be consistent along 3 weeks, I don't doubt that, ma harder stages will be a significant obstacle for him.

Lipowitz seems like a guy that can actually drive a group from far way, so if the tactics is to 1 2 the opposition from far away he may actually work well with Remco. Unfortunately they both struggle with positioning

I don't buy that, he is getting old. His 30 minute fresh power is still elite and probably will be even at 45, but his endurance his degrading, you could start to see this in last year Vuelta

What a ride by Thymen. He as such great endurance, he would have thrived in '80 and '90 GTs

So much talent put to waste. The constantups and downs not only slowed his development but also broke his character

Throwing away what you have quite firmly in your hand seems a little exagerated. I simply don't think there is any reason to tie up possible stage winner in triyng to drop POgacar when that is simply impossible

All this talking of tactics are nonsense. The only thing that can beat Pogi is a stage too easy to drop the sprinters. Visma should just try to win stages with other riders and keep the bare minimum help with Vingegaard t guard 2nd in GC

One side of me tells me that in a stage like today and after 3 days of hard effort his natural endurance should at least help him to limit the losses even if he can't push the raw watts. The other side tells me that if it's really a problem with his base training, thing will only go down hill...

Maybe there is some overestimation but if it's sistematic the bulk of the argument still stands, especially considering his best performance came in arguably the hardest stage in the Tour. One of my friends told me he was really sweating, so maybe he suffered from the heat, but I doubt that's...

Tbf he never reached the level of last year Tour at all this year. In 2024 he reached about 6.4 w/kg on every final climb in the Tour, this year he is just plateud at 6.0/6.05

I think Vingo won't drop Pogacar this year no matter how he tries. I think Jorgenson doesn't have the level to podium the Tour in the really high mountains. Last year he almost won Dauphine but wasn't close in the Tour, and this year he had a really bad day in the stage with the 3 45 minute...

This uphill drag where power is relatively more important than aero really suits Milan, he won fair and square
