Review - Bont Riot road shoes

When I had them strapped up tight and pressed down in a pedaling motion I had a good amount of heel lift and side to side movement. More so than any other shoe I've had. I'm guessing they're just a little too wide at the heel for me or the straps don't hold my foot quite right. The movement...

Review - Bont Riot road shoes

Thanks for the input! It sounded like it was about a draw so I tried ordering both and seeing which fit best. Unfortunately for me the answer was neither. Had heel fit issues with the Bonts, not to mention that the finish seemed a bit sloppy and the buckle seemed flimsy. The Shimanos were a...

Review - Bont Riot road shoes

How would you compare the Shimano R170s to the Bonts? I'm about to start looking for new shoes and those seem to be my main options since I have wider feet.

Official Lance Armstrong Thread: Part 3 (Post-Confession)

They scratched Tyler out after the Olympic/Vuelta positive, and "subbed in" Baden Cooke and Jimmie Casper. http://autobus.cyclingnews.com/features/?id=2006/wired_to_win Some of the scenes were clearly shot later as part of a dramatized re-enactment, e.g. the scene of Casper withdrawing contrasts...

    Building A Cycling Bookshelf

Just finished Road to Valour (the Bartoli book). Good easy read that I, even as a person who doesn't keep to a book for too long, couldn't put down. I felt that with the exception of the 1948 Tour it doesn't go into too much depth on his cycling career, but instead goes into more detail on...

2013 Tour of California: Stage 6: San Jose TT (31 km)

They could push him, but I still think TJVG beats at least one of them on the day, with my basis being that he took time on Westra on the Col d'Eze TT in Paris-Nice. I think Westra beats Rogers today. Shame Westra lost all that time on Stage 2 and I don't know how a Dutchman gets caught out...

2013 Tour of California: Stage 6: San Jose TT (31 km)

I heard from a Vancansoleil rep last weekend that they are planning on changing bikes.

2013 Tour of California: Stage 6: San Jose TT (31 km)

I think I've heard they're going to have a headwind going into the climb. If my calculations are right they'll have about 12.25km into a head/cross wind with a 800m "climb" on the small crosswind portion, then do that climb. The stage could be interesting.

2013 Tour of California: Stage 5: Santa Barbara-Avila Beach (185 km)

Should be at the very least a very scenic stage. I was up there riding about a month and a half ago and it was beautiful. Never ridden up San Marcos Pass but I've driven it and it's a pretty decent climb; it'll be a nice launch pad for the break. I'm surprised then didn't give Foxen Canyon...

    Vacansoleil ends sponsorship

With Becca footing the bill again? If Andy doesn't win the Tour how much longer will Becca's patience last with the team?

2013 Tour of California: Stage 1: Escondido - Escondido (165 km)

Escondido's been trying to step up in the sports world for a while now between the TOC and their attempts with AAA baseball and the Chargers. At least the TOC acknowledges their support. I thought the City did a pretty good job with laying out the event.

2013 Tour of California: Stage 1: Escondido - Escondido (165 km)

Apparently Bianchi is why Vacansoleil is racing in CA. I couldn't figure out why they would send a team, much less a good team when they don't have too many American sponsors (Lizard Skins is the only one I could think of). This weekend there was a team rep at an event and he mentioned Bianchi...

Agree (even though I am a DZ fan). He'll struggle on the relatively steep pitches on Stages 2, 6 and 7

    2013 Tour of California

If your talking about the San Jose TT in 2006, Floyd won it (DZ second) and the course was different, same start, but different finish. http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/tour-of-california-2013/stage-6 2006 San Jose TT Profile: 2013 San Jose TT Profile: I've heard from a friend in San Jose...
