Seems that Kayle LeoGrande has finally earned his lifetime membership, although nothing up at USADA.

    New Velodromes Opening

Detroit track seems to be a 167m indoor right smack downtown just north of the pro football and baseball stadiums, next to Wayne State University, and just south of the Art Institute. IIRC, this is the old Brewster Housing location. I lived in Detroit in the 90s, downtown, not a place I'd go...

US cycling scene in the 70s and 80s

Judging from his facebook postings of right-wing Koch-funded think tank pieces, Eric Heiden became a physician solely to learn the art of enhancing his income.

US cycling scene in the 70s and 80s

You forgot Simes, Eustice, and Fred Megoni, essentially the other side of the battle with Fraysee/USCF. FWIW, Reed probably got all the Eddie B stuff from Eddie and Mike F. It's a touching portrait, brings a tear to my eye. Bad, bad, Ed Burke. I speculate it was horses for courses with Eddy...

I hope so. All the stuff he was on was available from one on-line us retailer, a nootropics source started by a reddit noots board mod. They soon began selling more interesting products, including an evolving array of aromatase inhibitors, HGH, SARMS, ubiquitin, and SR-9009. Anyway, what he...

    Motor doping thread

Re: Mechanical doping: first rider caught In principle, wheel drives could work like regenerative braking, especially if the magnets were placed in calipers and the travel/throw on the calipers large. But, like jyl says, inverse cube law. And you've only got two points to cross the field...

    Hour Record Rules Revisted/Revised

I've raced with them close to centered on the blue band, which is not something you'll likely notice until you start. This is how I know that the wet foam ones can be flipped with no ill effect. Regardless, Voight, Dennis, and Dekker rode like they had the idea that they needed to stay well...

    Hour Record Rules Revisted/Revised

If that distance is correct, he would have beaten Dennis had he held a similar line. He was losing over a meter per lap by needlessly riding so high and then wobbling out of the turns. And the sponges were generously distant from the pole. Moreover, as sponges go, those looked pretty passive...

Sorry, age cohort, that is, late boomers and GenX, for all the reasons Alex said. I'd add that some are marginal racers who always doped (leDuc) and others who simply feel entitled (Anthony). I just looked over the USADA sanctions list, and there's also the obvious category/cohort of "those...

There's much more testing in US east coast races these days. Ten years ago, you could get tested at Univest, Philly, and Fitchburg, and nowhere else. There seems to be ten times as tests now. It also seems like the same cohort draws most of the positives.

    Hincapie's book

Regardless of his intentions, he shouldn't put himself in front of minors as mentor, benefactor, or role model. You forfeit that when you cheat, lie about it, lie about repeatedly, and do nothing to correct the problems beyond the farcical assertion that (paraphrasing) 'I would have done better...
