As others have stated, he's using the Tour as prep for the Vuelta. I think people are overlooking him as a threat despite his performance last year.

I'm not sure why Froome didn't ride away. There was no reason for him not to. Wiggins was in no danger.

No matter the final result, Nibali has been one of the few bright spots of this Tour. Really impressive stuff. Excited to see what he'll do at Astana.

Why does anyone think Froome will ride the Vuelta? When was the last time someone put in a huge effort at the Tour and proceeded to have success at the Vuelta?
