    This is just an excuse for being such a fool to get into games with Carapaz.. He allowed Yates to gain too much time on Finestre - even if there had been no Wout he was not getting back to Yates.

    This year he clearly didn't enjoy the Tour after the crash - probably in discomfort for a long time and riding 200k a day is not conducive to healing. But the Tour is so far above other races in prestige one can't see him skipping it before he has 6 .

    No chance Pog skips the Tour. Noone who might win it ever leaves it off their programme - would be like skipping the World Cup, Wimbledon or Olympics to do another event.

    If we wind the clock back to before the Giro Primos Roglic was the favourite and I think he still would have been even if Remco and these others had been starters. So it's Rogla for me. if not him then IDT - he really should have won the Giro.

    Probably the only real certs for next year are MSR, PR, Tour, WCRR, GdL He'll need some prep for the WCRR - if he doesn't do the Vuelta then he'll need to do the Canada classics which will necessitate 3 weeks in the country.

    I would not completely rule out the Vuelta before 2028. May depend on what Jonas does - no Vingegaard makes it a much easier race for Pog - a lot may depend on how difficult a Tour he has.
