    Transfers and Rumours 2012 > 2013

UHC was given the liberty to go hunting for stage wins while the Portuguese teams focused on GC. Also, who's not to say the Volta wasn't a big objective of that team? In terms of talent, it's not being developed, but it's certainly there; the Santa Maria da Feira amateur team for example which...

    Wiggins 2009 tour he myoglobin

Iron reserves take weeks and months build, no from one moment to the next. Given the risk of hemochromatosis, posting such stuff on a forum is highly irresponsible.

    A Dave Millar thread

Didn't he name the supplier as Dr. Rosa(? or something) the basque?

    Hein Verbruggen

    This is absolutely shocking.

Could Marianne Vos ride for a men ProTour team one day?

Well, 6.6w/kg is 6.6w/kg regardless of sex, race, religion... About 99.9% of men couldn't keep up in a pro tour peloton either. Also there is a lot more to cycling that strength and endurance.

Could Marianne Vos ride for a men ProTour team one day?

Anecdotally, there was an Italian woman way back that rode the Giro with the likes of Coppi and Bartalli... her name escapes me, but it's an amazing story.

    British Identity

All children of the empire; Kenya, Malta, Man, Canada, Australia It's not a bad thing the fact that Britain and its cyclists are from a mix of backgrounds. Personally the concept of national irks me. It shouldn't be a factor, only someones worth should matter... Alas I think it will be...

    Scanuppia has been overtaken !?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baldwin_Street,_Dunedin It's made for bike racing, both up and down! Incidentally and rather sadly one of the girls died. I can't imagine it's possible to get up that with 39x23 unless you're Sergey Honchar or someone.

    Ban TT Bikes and Radios..

The whole notion of development and "keeping up with the times" is flawed. There hasn't been a significant improvement to the safety bicycle since the derailleur was introduced, if the arbitrary rules were remove a TT bike might look like this: and do 131kph... just saying there is no...

    Ban TT Bikes and Radios..

I fully agree with the opening post. TT bikes are daft, they don't prove anything, other than the legislation ruling equipment in cycling has been wanting. Either go the whole hog and allow engineers to create the fastest bikes they can, something along the lines of a HPV or get rid of them...

    Transfers and Rumours 2011 > 2012

LOL, not very strong... every army needs its infantry, every cycling team needs its domestiques. Not very strong is an excellent rider who has ridden for some of the worlds top teams.

    Holding onto cars

When you hold onto the window frame, lean in so your forearm rests against the car. This allows you to control your position relative to the car with greater ease and also takes a lot of the arm ache away by moving the force to the shoulder- lever arm is reduced, the shoulder arms are stronger...

    Transfers and Rumours 2011 > 2012

I've always thought that points should be like prize money: distributed among a team how they see fit (evenly among all for the whole season, evenly among those attending the race, winner takes all, etc...). I think that woud provide a true reflection of work in the peloton.

    Romain Sicard arrested

Everyone does stupid things when they're young. I think athletes put this off a few years, because of the rigorous life style. So it does seem they are acting the prat a bit, when really the behaviour isn't that strange by the standards of any 18 year old or "fresher" at university...
