    23mm v 25mm Tires

I have ridden 25mm for the past 8 or 9 years. They just ride better, and if I really want to lighten up, I will lose a little more weight (down 52 in the past year). The difference between 23 and 25 is pretty significant on chip seal and or generally rough roads in Corpus Christi. I remember...

    2010 Jerseys Thread

as a designer, we try to get away from reflex blue or standard blues. If you look at cycling in general, at least 50% of kits are blue, or have blue in them. To make them stand out (sponsor has a blue logo) you use other blues. And the next poster is exactly right, they spend lot's of money...

    Rock denied

Hey I was a cheeseball clubber in the 80's... OK so I get it, he's a punk. So why does UCI give him ANY place in the sport. Continental vs Pro Continental. Does Rock still have a lic?

    Rock denied

Really??? OK so a sponsor wants to spend a lot of money in the sport and you are going to pick and choose if you like him or not? I can not get over the holier than thou attitude on this board. We have all never done anything that was or wasn't exactly legal... right? How can you cheer for...

    2010 Jerseys Thread

makes perfect sense. Black looks sharp/sick on the front, but do you really want to spend 6-8 hours in a black shirt in the sun??? Have done more than one jersey with a white or at least light color on back and dark on front... not to mention black ink tends to bleach to brown in the sun...

    Americans at the Worlds

Ummm... so Tejay Van Garderen, Peter Stetina, Chris Barton, Alex Howes are slackers? Tour De l'Avenir results: Final GC 2. Tejay Van Gaderen (USA), at 0:01 7. Peter Stetina (USA), at 1:32 20. Kirk Carlsen (USA), at 4:29 Alex top 5 in Mtns... So we have no talent up and coming...

    So who here races?

Raced on and off since 1989. Kids soon to be 5 of them now, wife who doesnt ride, much. Work 72 hours plus a week, ok so I go to the fire station 72 hours a week...work, well, not going there. Heaviest rider to ever win the Tour?

Love it, I raced at 5'10" 162 in the early 90's and was 3.5-4% body fat. What the hell are those guys racing at??? I look at those pics now and wonder how I was ever that thin.

George Hincapie on Team RadioShack in 2010

Was hearing BMC until recently, but no Levi now. Looks like he is going to Postal/Disco/Astana/Shack. Really think Levi should have gone elsewhere, but maybe he doesnt have any dilusions of winning the Tour and wants a shot at being the guy at the Vuelta next year and another ToC win. Big...

New bike sponsor for Team Astana 2010?

Exactly why small companies like Ciöcc and others can not afford it. I would be shocked if they make €4-6 million profit a year.

New bike sponsor for Team Astana 2010?

Prince frameset $4500 in the US. Dealer gets about 30-35% markup. (Takes 35% just to pay all the bills...) So Dealer pays $2950 That means that Colnago is making about $500 a frame, and if memory serves, the prices are set for a year, so when you figure in a cratering Dollar it could be...

Has it really been 20 years?

two great memories of that tour. The first was hearing my roommate screaming in his office as the news of LeMonds win came over an old message board. Yeah he was online in 1989. Now a writere for PC magazine and a huge cycling fan. David, said I can't ****ing believe it. Of course we sat in...

New bike sponsor for Team Astana 2010?

Giant, Specialized, Merida, Fuji, Trek with multiple teams, all but Trek attached to the big three Taiwanese manufacturers. Look, Bianchi, Colnago, Willier, Ridley...all way too small to budget for 2 teams. ProTour has min 25 closer to 30 riders. All with at least 2 road bikes, and a...
