theres no "need" to keep ricco out of the tour. in fact, the tour could most certainly use him to make it more interesting. he's paid his dues just like many of the other cheats.

thats a pretty long list. leipheimer, hamilton, landis, kloden, rogers, evans, schleck, cunego, ulrich (is that in the last 15 yrs?), lemond (ok well over 15 yrs). just off the top of my head. considering he hasnt ridden the tour, i dont see how riding in the support of contador will hurt...

you say it like its a bad thing. how could a young kid hoping to be a future GC contender pass up the chance to ride in support of Contador? And only having a year to go, he doesnt have to fear being stuck in that role forever.

Good on Riis for slapping him back down to earth. Personally, I don't know why he's considering a move. Hes young, only has a year to go on this contract and will get to ride with/for Alberto Contador. What more could a future GC aspirant want than that. He should remember he is one bad season...

I was at Etna last week. There is no paved road above 2000m and there was still snow from about 2700m. Visibility was nil and it then there was the wind, rain and sleet. All of this in Sept.

If people remember last years Giro, it was won on the ITT. Sastre came into the Giro with little pre-form but certainly came good in the last week and put in 2 great stages. I think the course this year favours Sastre above Evans, with the very limited time trialling, and a crazy last week of...
