Haha. I was just thinking that. A few months ago I read some interview with P&P and they were saying that they catch crap for their lame commentating, but they have to do it that way in order to "inform" those new to cycling. These 2 guys from VeloNews are far more informative.

I agree that he never "had it" to begin with. But besides the obvious (he needs to get a better TT, or vastly improve his climbing to compensate) he needs to develop a real desire to win. What happened on stage 19 shows that. He followed Contador over the Telegraph and Galibier and down to...

From what I've been reading the order is Cadel->Frank->Andy. They are not switching Cadel and Frank up.

Or: Cadel gets the sweats over '08 and he goes nuts on a slick road and wipes out.

Back of the envelope: Looking at the 2009 TT in Annecy @ 40.5k w/ 205m ascent: Andy @ +0:01:45 (on form) Cadel @ +0:01:14 (questionable form) The 2011 TT @ 42.5k w/ 558m ascent. Evans is certainly stronger this year. So give him +1m. But there is more climbing here, so maybe knock off...

And the TdS TT was 32km, along with a few lumps as well. At the same time Cadel was doing the Dauphine, so if Andy improved a bit since then so did Cadel (all things being equal).

I guess that's one of the advantages of not actually racing anything leading to the TdF? :confused: Nobody actually knows what you can do.
