That is exactly why he might do it. Because he already won almost everything worth winning. Vuelta is nothing, he can or could win it any time and everybody knows it. Not so much PR.

As long as Wout, MvdP go to PR in present form, Pogačar won't win it. Yeah, maybe if stars align and everybody have a lot of unluck, but Pog doesn't. Big if. Remco has the same problem as Roglič did. He crashes way too much. And he's way too focused on gaining little time and small victories (in a GT race) then trying to gain big (like Vinge) on big hills where GT races are usually won. Roglič was a lot better in that regard so he has 5 GT wins and...

Remco should never seriously train and race for a 3 week GT top 3 places. He should focus on monuments, 1 week races and stages in 3 week races. This is where he's very good at. Now, he's just average everywhere with few ups and many heavy downs.

Roglič can't have both any more.

He hates weather and Giro chaos. He likes Tour for what it is (biggest race of the year). He loves Vuelta for it's roads and weather. He can ride only one GT per year to be competitive (maybe) so Vuelta it is. The rest is kind of boring, not much to ride for and plenty of competition...

I think it's easy to have his attitude for fixed 5M a year.

Pogačar enjoys 1 day races A LOT more than 1 week or 3 week GT races. Tour is a must since it's the biggest race of the year so that is already one GT in a year. He already won Giro. He can win Vuelta with one leg now or both legs in next 5 years so there is enough time to win the last 3 week...
