only it's 40k from the top of Nufenenpass till the start of the climb to Cari. So, or nothing happened till Cari or it will be epic. At least it would be great to see those climbs outside the Suisse Tour where they are not used enough lately.

That will most likely make it an easy Mountain Stage I guess. Long flat in the beginning. And then Just Doano before? Or from the other side, Tonale and Campo Mange and downhill finish.

at least the start of the stage can be interessting, wouldn't surprise me if the peloton is really really small on the top of the Noyer. To be very boring from that moment on, till the last few kilometers.

They can do Grand ballon also just after the start from Cernay, instead of in the final. Start ---> Grand Ballon ---> first time finish ---> firstplan, Petit Ballon, Platzerwazel, col du Haag, Markstein

Solude is an awesome climb! That would make 3x HC and a borderline 3rd/2nd category within 70 or so. But never going to happen of course with the gravel part being quite long.

I don't agree there were a few more aspects that could have been different: -I think Jumbo rode very defensive in the beginning of the Tour, because of the Dauphine crash. So, the Dauphine crash really has impact -I think they underestimated Pogacar, plus Pog probably had some likeability...

2019 just by showing up 2020 without the Dauphine crash and/or more agressive tacticts by Jumbo 2018 was too early to see a prime Roglic so, no. And 2021 he crashed out, but I think Pogacar was too good already at that point, so even without crash I think no.

ok, very fair comment. Maybe I judged the course indeed by the presence of Pogacar. I mean pre <2020 I would say, Montreal is a difficult course but not specifically for climbers. You would get your typical course, 150 k nothing, than a bigger attempt 100 to go from some countries who need to...

Sure, but in most cases, you can tweak the difficulty of the route. I mean, if swiss and Rwanda are difficult, Sallanche will have a very hard climber course, they at least could have asked to be a bit more creative with the Montreal circuit for example.

Especially in this area, with one domination rider, giving him this ultra hard courses is making it even 'easier' to win. Less tactics and less need of a strong team. Automatically a very selective race which favors him. An easier course would make it more exciting. Earlier this centary I would...
