In the mid-80's, belgium's 2 top sprinters, Vanderaerden and Planckaert, had a deal going where they would lead out for each other in alternate races. For a while there, they were pretty unbeatable.
What can you expect? for the next few years: Suisse, California, Romandie, Settimani etc.. Then some serious wind tunnel time and dropping 5-8 kilos, after that, who knows? Good luck to him and Astana, as to all the valiant men who entertain us so!

I love the Relay Race idea. In a criterium course so the spectators would see top level racing all day long. How about a figure eight track, with one loop in the city (cobbles, narrow streets, lotsa corners) and the other out into the countryside (long open roads, wind), with the first rider...
