We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
So far Lipowitz seems more consistent at his level during GTs. This is small sample size but anyways. For one or the other reason remco has a tendency to collapse. Now u say this is due to bad luck, like broken rib, sickness, crash during the winter or the race itself. This doesn't happen to...
There are many races.. focusing on winning the GT where Pogacar isn't participating like this year's Giro for example or last years Vuelta. The tour can be for the big two the next 2 or 3 years and for riders who are looking to establish themselves like Lipowitz and Onley this year.
Yea idk, as long as Vingegaard and Pogacar er taking part in good form it is actually little point to bring Remco, or anyone who has the chance to win a GT as long those 2 arent there. But I would assume that RB wants to bring their fancy new toy to the big TDF no matter what.
I dont get why u sign Remco to win the tour, thats one of the races he is least likely to win.. bring him in to win a ton of classics and whatever else comes his way. They already signed Roglic to win the TDF, didnt they, already then i thought that this was beyond unrealistic, Bring him in to...
Why does he want to quite tho? He is still good enough to win a GT, when was the last time we saw him in top form actually, meaning he wasnt impacted by crashes either during his build up or the race itself. If he aims for a GT without Pogacar or Vingegaard next year and everything goes right...
Evenepol is under normal circumstances nobody who can go for GT GC vivcories consistently, he has bad days, he isnt a particularly good climber, lots of things have to work out for him to win a GT
Yea even if he won the tour the impact on cycling in germany and the general interest would be way lower than it was during the Ullrich era. Dont see such hype developing again round any kind of sports star any time soon in germany.
I don't think that today's effort will cost him that much tho, Onley was also pacing his group for the most part and then went all out on Loze, not like he got a rest day, they both invested a ton.
There isnt a team order, Lipowitz pacing up and down Madeleine like the police was after him was imo due to the danger of Roglic taking 3rd from him, waiting for Onley wasnt an option.
