Vuelta a España Vuelta 2026 route rumours

Perhaps "inviting" is too strong of a word. But at Hazallanas is a proper climb where, if you need to, you can really blow up the race without the move being completely suicidal. And I dont think you can say that about many final mountain stages of recent Vueltas.

Vuelta a España Vuelta 2026 route rumours

Number of more or less flat stages a bit too high for my liking but perhaps some of them will go to the break or puncheurs since most of them are actually quite hilly. The mountain stages are a pleasant surprise though. Stage 20 is a proper queen stage inviting early attacks. Feels like we...

Giro d'Italia Rate the 2026 Giro d'Italia route

Are all riders accidently gonna turn left to ride up the Monte Grappa from the sh*ttiest side possible? Muscle memory might kick in...

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2026 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

So what? The point is that the Galibier from the north is often causing great stages even if the race ends up coming back together. Both Granon 2022 and Alpe d'Huez are among the best Tour stages in recent history, and all the favorites started the final climb together. Aside from that I also...

Giro d'Italia Rate the 2026 Giro d'Italia route

On the bright side, there is one well designed stage.

But then at least they went full gas on the Galibier.

Vingegaard vs Pogačar - The Duel

I think Vingegaard is not good enough to be a consistant rival of Pogacar but he is good enough to always be a threat to him. We cannot disregard that on the majority of mountain stages last year Pogacar was not able to drop Vingegaard and as long as thats the case Pogacar will always be in...

Tour de France Tour de France 2026 route rumours

I think with this route the ASO is essentially telling Pog, "if you want a big lead before the penumtimate weekend you'll have to work for" it and I kinda like this approach. People complain about artificially close races but I think I still prefer an artificially close race over Pog being ahead...

Il Lombardia 2025, monument, October 11

At least last year Pogacar dominating Lombardia like that was still a novelty. People easily forget the few editions prior to that were rather close. He won his first two Lombardias in a sprint and in the third one he created the crucial gap on the descent, not the climb. None of these races...

Il Lombardia 2025, monument, October 11

WIll this go down as the most forgettable monument in history?

    World Championship 2025: Men’s RR, September 28

I think it's quite important for Pogacar to keep this gap for a while. If it starts to come down the group behind will smell blood and keep working together. Once the group behind starts riding for medals Pogacar has won.

    Future GT Winner (Edition 2025)

I think the "this guy is younger than XY so he will win GTs once XY retires" arguments usually don't end up working because most of the time, by the time XY actually retires there is someone else who can beat them. I voted for Almeida nontheless because I think he's already good enough to win...

Vuelta a España Rate the 2025 Vuelta a España

This has been the first GT since I guess the 2010 Vuelta that I didn't watch a single second of live coverage of. Seems like I couldn't have picked a better GT to skip. Also condolences to everyone here who had to discuss all these protests without being allowed to become the tiniest bit...

Vuelta a España La Vuelta a España 2025: Who will finish on the podium?

It's easy to come up with someone creative but not with someone creative I actually believe in.

Vuelta a España La Vuelta a España 2025: Who will finish on the podium?

I went for Vingegaard and Almeida and then wanted to find a more creative third option than Ayuso, but man, this field really doesn't have anyone jumping out. I ended up voting Ayuso but I almost expect someone out of left field to end up on the podium.
