Vuelta a España La Vuelta a España 2025: Who will finish on the podium?

It's easy to come up with someone creative but not with someone creative I actually believe in.

Vuelta a España La Vuelta a España 2025: Who will finish on the podium?

I went for Vingegaard and Almeida and then wanted to find a more creative third option than Ayuso, but man, this field really doesn't have anyone jumping out. I ended up voting Ayuso but I almost expect someone out of left field to end up on the podium.

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

But is Pogacar steering towards Jordan's 1993 or his 1998 premature retirement?

Teams & Riders Tadej Pogačar discussion thread

Pogacar does have "retiring early just to come back, still being really good but no longer quite the force he used to be" written all over him. It's a narrative in sports that repeats itself over and over again. Athletes who retire at the peak of their abilities because they are burnt out and...

Giro d'Italia Giro d'Italia 2026 Route: Speculation, Rumours and Announcements

I think it's really mostly @Eshnar no longer providing us with constant updates. I think the Giro gets a similar amount of engagement from the forum as the Vuelta and the Vuelta route speculation thread is usually not very long either.

Who is the better Classics cyclist between Tadej Pogačar and Mathieu van der Poel?

Yes. Also are you really sure you want to make the argument MvdP is a better classics rider because of non monument one day races? I'll give you a minute to think about this, please come back once you've made your decision.

Who is the better Classics cyclist between Tadej Pogačar and Mathieu van der Poel?

It's so obviously Pogacar. Cannot believe this is actually something people are willing to argue against. With the same logic that's saying Pogacar cannot win MSR and PR I could argue 3 time RVV champion MvdP cannot win RVV. There is a guy who literally podiumed the last 7 major one day races in...

Ineos must continue to be a gc team without gc leaders!

    Vuelta a España 2025 discussion

I was stating in my post that I preferred what we got over a scenario where Roglic and Vingegaard are not attacking each other. @Libertine Seguros then wrote something about how a proper battle would have been preferable. Obviously I agree with that, but my whole point was that I don't think a...

    Vuelta a España 2025 discussion

C'mon, at least read my post to the end. I'm saying that what we got was better than if Vingegaard and Roglic had been holding hands, just without Kuss.

    Vuelta a España 2025 discussion

But do we have any indication Vingegaard would have raced Bejes differently if Kuss wasn't there? His tactic seems to be independent of whether he had 1 or 2 teammates ahead of him on gc. Perhaps Roglic would have responded without Kuss there but again I don't see why the existence of another gc...

    Vuelta a España 2025 discussion

That's what would have given us the best gc battle but I don't think this was ever gonna happen. I think without Kuss, Bejes is raced exactly like it was raced and Visma freezes the gc afterwards. Roglic couldn't drop Vingegaard on the Angliru anyway, the one place he probably did go all out...

Tour de France Rate the 2025 Tour de France

I think that is probably much more due to the twittersphere today being way more toxic than in 2012/13 in general. Back when nutcases were seen as nutcases and not as messiahs, both in and outside of the cycling fandom.

    Vuelta a España 2025 discussion

Still think Visma handing the victory to Kuss was more interesting than the alternative of either Roglic or Vingegaard leading and the other one still probably not allowed to attack. At least we got some very spicy inter team drama.

Tour de France Tour de France 2026 route rumours

Thinking a bit more about it, 2013 actually did it quite well. Have Alpe d'Huez as the first mountain stage in the alps, which is properly hard but also not a queen stage, then have the queen stage the next day. That way nobody really bothers about the fact that not too much happens before Alpe...
