Power Data Estimates for the climbing stages

I do think th level in the Vuelta has been higher on climbing stages, do you seriously believe that any of the top 5 could go with the top 3 in the vuelta? No chance, Froome would be the only one close if fresh

    The David Moncoutie goodbye thread

Massive respect for the man, clean as a whistle his carreer has clearly been ruined by far less talented drug mules. Its great to celebrate the end of his carreer but there are massive what ifs, I dont think its beyhond the realms of possibilty to say that he could easily have won many a grand...

Power Data Estimates for the climbing stages

Its not much of a surprise that the differences are like that J Rod should be better than Nibali on a 3km steep section, what it does go to show is how poor Contadors form is at the moment. I would expect a peak Contador to maybe be around 13:00 flat. J Rods improvement is strange and after the...

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

I agree I would be shocked if Wiggins didnt thank his team, I didnt realise till his interview on Lagos da Covadonga what a genuine and nice guy Chris Froome is, shame his gf appears to be queen bytch

Vuelta 2012, Stage 15: La Robla > Lagos de Covadonga (186,5 kms)

So all of the top 4 have a teammate up the road, im guessing lampre and BMC are working to put a man in the break too. Break will win this if all major teams represented

Vuelta 2012, Stage 15: La Robla > Lagos de Covadonga (186,5 kms)

I agree I also kind of think JRod needs to win by bonuses and is unlikely to massively gap AC, if AC does win this bonuses will be irrelevant becuase he will take a lot of time by fully cracking Jrod

Vuelta 2012, Stage 15: La Robla > Lagos de Covadonga (186,5 kms)

What sort of time gaps does Lagos de Covadonga usually create? I think all the action will happen in la Huesera, Contador must attack here and just once and simply keep pushing without looking back, if JRod is still there sit up!

Vuelta 2012, Stage 14: Palas de Rei > Puerto de Ancares (149,2 kms)

Given that he has already won a vuelta I dont think the difference between 4th and 2nd is that big for him

Vuelta 2012, Stage 14: Palas de Rei > Puerto de Ancares (149,2 kms)

This is actually wrong, what he really needs is an easy pace and a large peloton then attack from 7 or 8 km. The Giro was all ridiculously hard stages where no one could make a difference except JRod with his sprint. Can J Rod match Contador over 6 or 7 kms that is what is left unanswered...

After 2 weeks Vuelta. Who will win it?

I think that Rodriguez will win, yes Contador will step it up but Im not convinced he will reach a 2011 Giro level and i honestly think JRod is riding in the form of his life, he doesnt have to do anything on the climb he can simply hold albertos wheel and win bonus second pritty easily...

    Vuelta 2012, Stage 10: Ponteareas > Sanxenxo (190 kms)

Im Surprised no one else saw Henao go out the back with 8km to go, Sky were leading the peloton and the chase..... 2 top 10s for swift aquired by eliminating Uran and Henao as GC threats!

2012 Vuelta a España: Stage 4:Barakaldo-Estación de Valdezcaray 160.6 Km

Maybe because Navarro has never been top 10 in a GT, the others have far more open teams in terms of leadership where as everyone knows Saxo is only for Contador, if say Cobo Gadret Quintana Henao and Moreno all got away and worked, it would be a bit of a mission for Saxo to control a group like...

2012 Vuelta a España: Stage 4:Barakaldo-Estación de Valdezcaray 160.6 Km

This is an ideal stage for someone who is on the outskirts of the top 10 to take 30 or 40 seconds because i dont know who would really want to chase them down, someone like Roche or Gadret would have a great chance i believe. I could easily see a leutenant going up the road like Moreno, a...

    2012 Vuelta a España: Stage 3: Faustino V → Eibar (Arrate) (155,3km)

As always it depends on the pace on the climb, if any of Movistar, Sky, Saxo or Katusha set an infernal pace then I could see a group from 1 - 3 win and some favorites lose 40 - 50 seconds. However a conservative race could easily see a group of 10 - 20 riders even make it to the finish. If...
