    Horner's front derailleur problems

It is a socket connection. A pull on the cable can unplug it. I've read reports of people unplugging the cable while gripping/twisting under hard efforts, probably aided by not enough slack in the cable under the tape. That's not going to happen with a mechanical system. Hard to believe a...

    Horner's front derailleur problems

I've read about that as well. Seems that most of the time if a mechanical derailleur is good at the start of the day it will be good all day, barring crashes or other incidents. Di2 not so much. :( graviT

    Horner's front derailleur problems

Sorry if this has been posted before but I am curious if anyone knows what gruppo Horner is riding. Unable to downshift on the front twice in one race? I'm just curious if this is a Di2 issue as it seems unlikely to happen with a mechanical front derailleur. graviT

    Salaries in pro cycling

Must be difficult to find a new apartment every few months. Where do you think they store all their stuff when they travel? Do their wife, kids and pets just disappear when they head to a race?

What was wrong with Cadels Bike?

Are you saying that a fractured elbow does not equal a broken arm? A fracture is defined as a break in bone or cartilage and the elbow is a specific part of the arm. Therefore, saying you broke your arm is less specific than saying you fractured your elbow but both are completely correct.

    Rode 1382km / 857miles this week.

After doing Ironman Lake Placid I went up to Penticton to cheer on my team mates in IM Canada. I took my touring bike and rode home to San Francisco. I went through the Kootenays over to Banff and came down through the Rocky's to Waterton/Glacier NP. I cut over to Seattle (by train) from East...

    The Other Kind of Doping

"Pot Belge is a French term that is used to describe a mixture of drugs ... variously constituted from cocaine, heroin, caffeine, amphetamines, and other analgesics." wikipedia If somebody is using that during a race it is most definitely performance enhancing. I don't care a bit what...

    Allen Lim

Here's a question for those that think Lim is telling the truth. If an experienced coach and trainer with a doctorate in exercise physiology and daily access to a rider's blood values, power readings, diet and training log is unable to determine, or even suspect, that anything is amiss even...

    A Dope of an Idea

I seem to remember reading that you are still subject to the whereabouts system even when serving a suspension. This would imply that you cannot dope during a suspension if you intend to return to cycling.

Does Armstrong have a monopoly on the best PEDs?

I've read a lot of things a few times but that doesn't make them true. Yes, there are studies out there that report minimal efficiency differences between slow and fast cadences. What those studies are trying to do is understand what decades of experienced cyclists have determined through on the...

    Team Sky...holy crap!!

The article stated that staff must speak English, not not riders. "There were other selection credentials. Staff must be open to innovation, and must be able to speak English, or willing to learn. Also, there must be no more than four riders or staff recruited from another single team — in...

All round bike, what to get...

Closest to what you are looking at in the Specialized is the Sirrus, but it doesn't come with disk brakes. In Cannondale I was thinking of the Quick, but it doesn't come with disks either. Between the two I liked the Quick. Maybe this is the bike for you? :) Stylin...

All round bike, what to get...

Make sure you test ride the bike I would never buy a bike I haven't test ridden. I worked at a shop that sold a lot of bikes similar to the ones you are looking at. In the US, though, so they were Cannondale and Specialized. You'd be surprised how different bikes can have a totally different...
