MAIIA - the new EPO test

Look man, I do synthesis and there are several things in these papers that are useful beyond synthesis of glycoproteins that are easily biologically synthesized (although I dare you to propose a "perfectly good" biological way to make pure epo isoforms with unnatural glycoside substitutions)...

MAIIA - the new EPO test

Because this science paves the way for other syntheses of complex glycoproteins and because different single isoforms of epo could lead to different and useful selectivities?

MAIIA - the new EPO test

I seem to recall that distribution of EPO isoforms is pretty variable over time and also between different people. (sorry only source for this claim ican give right now is Schänzer et al Sport Und Buch Strauss, Köln (2004) 309-316). The way the MAIIA test is used right now in the ashenden and...

MAIIA - the new EPO test

It is fully undetectable to the EPO test, because it shows up as natural. The biological effects are the same, so everything that would show up with regular EPO on the irregularities ABP would also show up with this. However, there are ways to manipulate the values. I'm no expert on the...

MAIIA - the new EPO test

So, re: this new test, which is rumored to be used to detect epo microdosing. Did you now that Danishefsky recently developed a chemical synthesis for homogeneous erythropoietin. this form of EPO is totally undetectable/indistinguishable from natural EPO by all currently known methods...

"The Secret Pro" on Katusha and doping

"you can probably figure it out", someone winning out of nowhere, like J.J. Cobo? Or someone mysteriously withdrawing like Basso? Also, he implies being in the tour of turkey this year. Just like K. De Kort does :D

    Aod-9604

Remark also that WADA has been aware of these products for a much longer time than these press releases suggest. For example, Mario Thevis (connected to the cologne lab) PUBLISHED his test for GW-501516 in 2009. I still think that a team team paying <100.000 €/year for unscrupulous...

    GW501516 for performance enhancement.

I have heard the detection window of GW-501516 is 40 days  really easy to detect too. stable enough to test retroactively, i'd think EDIT: it appears this 40 days number is WRONG. I don't know where I got it from. anyway, here is the paper by Thevis et al about the detection method...

    GW501516 for performance enhancement.

 If Sky really are as professional as they claim, they should have switched to undetectable analogs before Froome's uprising began :D I also watched that nice french GW501516+AICAR doc by french tv on youtube, very funny how boyer basically accuses wiggins

    Valery Kaikov (RusVelo) tests positive

Yes, I agree, real good yield! Also, the recent popularity of "legal highs" for human consumption synthesized in Chinese labs has shown that no so much cleaning at all is necessary for customer satisfaction :o You would need some very active impurities to give immediate and noticable...

    Valery Kaikov (RusVelo) tests positive

Why black market? A chinese custom synth lab could make this pretty easily & legally (& discreetly) . I would guess it'd cost a few 1000 € per 100g (if an optimized synthetic route is available). Not so expensive, imo :D as you can see in this OPRD paper, there is a nice optimized...
