    Why Grand Tours Suck

    DVR, look it up. ;)

How did you become interested in cycling?

Lemond. Saw him race at Greenbriar in the Tour Du Pont. Bugno was in the peloton that year IIRC. A few years later I saw Armstrong, Hincapie, and Eki at Beech Mountain.

Bruyneel - Sour grapes or what

Looked better than AC's though. Actually, AC's position looked good, but it looked like his stem/toptube where too long. He kept having to push himself back onto his saddle. Geez, was he even riding his own bike?

    Indurain EPO?

Yeah, Merckx tested positive for Reactivan I think. It's a stimulant (read diet pill). Pretty common in those days from my reading. IIRC, Lemond alluded to possibility that Indurain was on the juice. Indurain's vitals (resting heart rate, lung capacity, etc) where off the chain though. He...

Will Lance or the Hog take Contador down with him?

I don't have a problem with striving for the 'ideal'. I worry that pragmatism and a lack of historical perspective is most often completely lost in these discussions. Doping will always outpace testing (until every contestant's genome is mapped and classified down to the last chromosome).

Why is Cyclingnews giving LeMond a platform?

Average at best? I've followed his career since before he won the WC. His physical assets are not average. Your statement stretches credulity IMO. I make no statement as to whether he doped or not. The question is, who F'ing hasn't in the past 30+ years? That's what everyone seemingly forgets...

    Dr Ferrari -vs- Lemond

    That's a logical stretch IMO.

Will Lance or the Hog take Contador down with him?

What gives you reason to believe a clean sport is an achievable goal?

    Alberto Contador and Doping

"Alberto Contador was suffering from a congenital vascular disorder known as a cavernoma. Cavernomas cause bleeding in the brain and can lead to hemorraghic stroke. In the hands of a skillful neurosurgeon, they can be repaired."...

It's becoming a sport for spoiled brats

I don't think that's the intended tone. He doesn't lament no one waiting for him. He just thinks it is a bad idea- irrespective of the rider. I tend to agree with him.

1991 Tour de France final stage - photo (LeMond)

Really? I've been cycling since the late 80's so that does come as quite the surprise.

King of the Mountains - huh?

    I always liked Jalabert.
