At the moment Cav is the No.1 when it comes to the sprints, there are some other good ones around and they will beat him sometimes but for now they have to play second fiddle.

Armstrong showed in this TdF that he is well below the form of Contador, next year, regardless of which team he rides with Contador will have the better of Armstrong.

I would like to be wrong, but I also don't think he has what it takes to compete with the top boys.

Last year he raced the Leadville 100 an came second to Wiens by quite a big margin. This year he did some training and a couple of GT's and beat Wiens by 25 minutes. It shows just how much Armstrong must have put into the training for this year.

Armstrong may have one or two more years where he'll be near the top of the peleton, or at least GT contenders, but IMO no more than that. During that time he will continue to do what he's done this year and keep cycling in the media and make it a better place for sponsors to spend their money...

Given the trouble that Bruyneel and the riders had this year in getting money out of Astana to keep the team floating, I would think AC could use that to get out of his contract, with the help of a good lawyer.

Whether he actually 'cheated' we will never know, but for reasons I can't quantify I never did like him during interviews etc. when he was racing and his behaviour and talking afterwards did nothing to improve that feeling.

He should join Astana then ASO would only have to ban one team next year.

I think the TTT should stay in the Tour, perhaps we should take away the mountains so that no team or rider gets a big advantage in those stages:rolleyes:.

My thoughts as well, they are all still good but maybe not good enough to get on the top step of a GT.

Ride as many hills a you can in training and persevere with the honking, however ride within yourself and don't try to go flat out (with effort) on the climbs.

Wiggins had a good tour and did himself proud, I think that with luck he can repeat that performance in the future. How did Evans get into this thread?

For me the best cyclist in this year's Tour won the race, Armstrong also did very well to get the third spot. It's a shame they had some internal team fighting but from what I've seen in other sports, as well as cycling, this is not unusual.
