Armstrong in the mire again. LeMonde reports

Perhaps guilder thinks it's great when one knows the end result before the first week is done.

Armstrong in the mire again. LeMonde reports

Very true, TheHog has demontrated this time and time again. As an aside, I am very interested in what the retests of 2008 show. Has there been any news on the retests of the 2008 Giro?

    LA returning to "traditional preparation"

OK, so your point is AC has been doping for a long time then. His previous TT results do not compare to his current ones, and his climbing as improved as well. So he must have become much more powerful, gained aerodymanics, while actually losing weight  I can only believe 1-2 of...

This is more than a bit ironic.

    LA returning to "traditional preparation"

Ah, AC, aka the Contadoper. I wonder what wonderful cocktail of goodies you are taking ;) I think this post was started because LA has been talking about his prep for next year. So the focus is on him. I don't think it means anything about opinions on others. Of course, when one brings...

UCI'S - "True Champion or Cheat" program 2010

Wow, I had to read the press release more than once to make sure it was not a joke! This has got to be one of the sillier approaches I have seen. Whoever came up with and drove this idea, ought to be fired

Silence Lotto Changes Name To Omega Pharma-Lotto

The announcers will just start calling them OPL ;) Wow, some folks are really sensitive to the name issue (the Pharma part). I can understand being a bit sensitive given what has occurred in our sport, but this seems a bit intense. It's not like it's Team 'We Use EPO Lotto' :o

Additives that make a significant performance difference, but not doping

I wouldn't call Malto an artifical sweetener. It is a sugar, albeit one with a bit more complexity than your standard one chain sugar - think of it as a bunch of one chain sugar molecules stuck together. Lots of sports drinks use Maltodextrin as either part of the carb intake, or all of it...

Evans wins worlds...what was he on?

What CE was not on I know what Evans was not on ... Silence Lotto and listening to the SL DS! See kids, see what is possible when your not on the Silence Lotto :p

Official Thread - World Championships: Elite Men's Road Race 262.2km, Mendrisio

What a finale! What an attack! CE takes it and finally, gets the big W :) I think the Eurosport commentator said it ... if you say Evans doesn't attack now, you'll have to eat your hat. ;)

    Brad Wiggins Power data [2009]

Are you talking about avg or peak power? In a TTT, avg power would likely be lower, but peak power should be higher.

    Cancellara

Given his history in the TT, the course, the location, and his strength (which is, umm, his strenth!), I'll give FC the benefit of the doubt. At least for now. Having said this, I can feel your doubt dimspace. I too get skeptical with every "superhuman" performance I see, so I get a bit...

What happened to the no-start rule?

Irony I seem to recall a comment like this may have been posted before, so my apologies if it has ... Does anyone else find it ironic that, if Valverde had served a ban back when he was heavily implicated in OP, he would be racing again, just like Basso? And now there is evidently hard...

    Tubular's

That depends on the race conditions, your skills, the tire, and your weight! FWIW, I've read of seasoned euros (Nys, Wellens) running in the mid-20's. But most people seem to find 30-something to be really good. I am no expert, but generally lower pressure on bumpy grass is better, higher...
