Teams & Riders Vincenzo Nibali discussion thread

Re: Re: Hey Carol(s) :) I wouldn't disagree at all because I have seen variations of that type of response from people after they have kids. An older sister had a complete 180 personality change: wouldn't ski, ride a bike, no more surfing, risk taking. It's far more subtle a change for...

How to beat Team SKY at TdF?

Re: Yeah and I didn't think about this (the bolded). Froome has grown in confidence over the years -- he lets riders like Fabio and Alejandro go without flinching. Complete confidence in his team and himself = sleeps well at night/ no mental/emotional energy spent. One mistake he made was...

    Team Ineos Discussion thread

Re: Re: That's what it appeared to me and why I agree with you about warming up to Sky, maybe, if they gave a few riders, at least more freedom. If I'm honest, 2011 Vuelta was the last time I watched Sky in a GT without getting my panties in a bunch about something :o :o

Teams & Riders Fabio Aru discussion thread

Interesting points about Aru, Safebet. After his performance in the MTT, I was hopeful about Aru getting a podium place and -- perhaps a stage even a win on one of the remaining mountain stages. He didn't have enough to make it. He's human. Is he riding the Vuelta?

Teams & Riders Vincenzo Nibali discussion thread

Re: That's what I've thought: not as dauntless as in the Liquigas days. But able to find the level he needs to win in the right circumstances (Lombardia 2015) thanks, Safebet.

    Team Ineos Discussion thread

Re: Re: Please don't think I was criticizing your opinion. Only found it interesting and it's distinctly different from my own regards appreciating Sky -- maybe I feel guilty a bit about my own inabilities to see Sky as a team to be admired. I don't like dreading team Sky but can't help it...

Teams & Riders Vincenzo Nibali discussion thread

Thanks, dfromdub , for the link and your translation. He speaks way too fast for me to catch much - I'm dependent on a transcript. And what he described about that stage, Peter killing it :D in the breakaway , Aru's role and his role makes sense. Nibs really gets either no press or a negative...

    Team Ineos Discussion thread

Re: It's interesting to read this. I feel completely opposite about team Sky. The Sky Machine does consider every scenario and detail - and controls for literally everything that can be controlled. But the weather still fits the description of an element that can't be controlled or...

Rate the 2016 Tour de France

My hopes for rain sometimes are the same as my hopes for crosswinds -- to test the athletes and break up the boredom. I like to see how people respond to a monkey wrench getting tossed in the plan.

    Mikel Landa Discussion Thread

I've been a following Mikel Landa since before he hit a cow or was hit by a cow(s) in the Dauphine 2011. I should say Landa was one of several climbers on the Basque team that I liked. Sad for a fan to see Nieve and Landa now handcuffed on team Sky. I'm guessing the pay is too good to pass...
