Possibly but it still increases the options for a variable outcome which should also benefit Pog. At present it is difficult to conjure a scenario that Pog can beat a top MVP at MSR. Adding more realistic protagonists like Remco will benefit all.

He has a better chance of winning MSR if Remco is on the startline than if he is not. MvP needs two genuine protagonists to worry about.

Question Pogacar vs Evenepoel - 200 KM FLAT ITT On Road Bikes

Completely flat and as a pure TT Remco obviously even on a Road Bike, he is the best TTer every probably (certainly will be by the time he hangs up his cleats) and therefore the best at pacing an effort

Teams & Riders The Remco Evenepoel is the next Eddy Merckx thread

Remco already has a spectacular palmares himself and outside of MvP the only one really willing to take it to Pog. With a better winter he will be able to challenge Pog in the Ardennes which I think are Remco’s best suited events (other than Fleche where i think Huy will always give Pog an...

Yes a good effort today- kept digging and showed courage going for it. Lombardia to go. Pog will be tough to match but it’s bike racing so he has to put himself in a position to capitalise if Pogi not himself.

No competition- he will be a very good gregario for the launch. It will be another good experience for Isaac to ride a long race. He has great top end acceleration for these races but needs to build stamina for the longer monuments. He went too hard too soon in Kigali

    European Championship 2025: Men’s RR, October 5

I agree that a big solo unlikely- more likely is an attack on the penultimate/final climb. Others need to be within 10-15s realisticay at the top especially if he goes on the last climb.

Surprising in the sense that I am not convinced Movistar are a team you go to maximise GC potential. But on other hand they have less chiefs and he will be given the free hand he wants. Given Jumbos stacked roster I guess I am not too surprised from their end it he is demanding a level of...

I am not sure that is the point - the implausible part is Remco being able to do enough damage to Pog on the flat to essentially win a sprint, in a race of this nature. That i just cannot see based on the past couple of years and current form- it is implausible to think he can just go solo from...

Van der Poel on the cobbles of PR a possible exception but i agree it is really implausible to think he can be cooked particularly in relatively short race

I think Remco’s best bet is there being more than just he able to follow Pog giving more variables and more opportunities for tactical solos. I think that is very doubtful but in my view his most plausible route to victory. I would be pleasantly surprised to see Vigne competitve as he is...

I don’t understand what you mean by cook him on the flat. If he is putting effort on the flat how does he win the sprint if he’s not dropped him as presumably to try and cook him he’d be doing most of the work making him more fatigued for a sprint?
