We hope all of you have a great holiday season and wonderful Christmas. Thanks so much for being part of the Cycling News community in 2025 and beyond!
The last time Roman Kreuziger won a 1 week race the human race was in the Middle Ages...
The whole career in Top Teams and never been able to ride consistently.
I suspect Gerrans is not yet at his full potential in terms of climbing power... Very shintomatyc (write like this?:D) the fact that he beat Greipel yesterday. His current fitness is best suited for the sprints.
So my bet is on Diego Ulissi, stage and for the overall.
This Contador lacks anaerobic power both in the climbs and ITT's, which was his main gun in the past. Xplosiveness is going down... so there's no way he could make the gaps of previous years.
Chris Froome had behind him a PERFECT campaign. Contador needed to resurrect and clearly failed. I can't see Contador being a reference in the Top scenarios, anymore...
Froome wont't perform in the Classics like in the GT's... Froome clearly has an advantage at aerobic power and recovery, but this margin come into nothing in one day races.
I expect Froome going a little bit down this next season... though he'll probably win Oman or Catalunya being the Top...
