    Worlds

This course has Gilbert written all over it. And Cancellara, if he's having a very good day.

Official Thread: Stage 20: Montélimar - Mt. Ventoux 167km

The question is when will Sastre place his attack? He wants to, he needs to, and he most certainly will. But it's obvious he can't wait for Contador and the Schlecks to start their battle, because there's no way he could ever keep up with them when they go all out. So he has to go rather early...

Official thread TdF Stage 18 Annency-Annency 40.5 km ITT

Anyone have a good liveticker with all results per intermediate point? I used to use the NOS one, but I can't seem to acces it right now

    Nibali to win white?

I did not know that. Thanks for the clarification :)

Will Van Den Broeck lead SIL in '10?

So VdB is paddling uphill with Armstrong, Nibali, Wiggins and Vandevelde, seemingly with ease. That after rough 2 days in a breakaway. That's pretty awesome, and much better than anything Evans has ever shown this Tour.

Will Van Den Broeck lead SIL in '10?

Too bad this thread turned out into a 'Where will Cadel go?' discussion, rather than focusing on Van den Broeck. Although both subjects are of course intertwined. I do agree that Evans most likely will not go anywhere. Although after what he's been showing the past couple of days, his...

Hushovd deserving wearer of green jersey

But also ensuring you end up with the green jersey in Paris, regardless of what Cavendish does there. ;) Sure, Cav might say he only cares for stage wins, but we all know he was eyeing the green as well. He's the fastest sprinter, but Thor is the biggest fighter. Winning green takes more than...

    Nibali to win white?

Nah, with todays stage and the Ventoux coming up, I think Nibali will lose between 1 or 2 minutes on Andy. And the TT is too short to make up that kind of difference. But I do agree the battle for white is very interesting this year, with Martin holding on much longer than anticipated, and...

    Official thread - TdF Stage 11 Vatan - Saint-Fargeau (192 km)

Today, Farrar has imo earned a one time leadout train formed by Wiggins, Millar and Dean. If he has to do the same - little to none - work as Cavendish in the last kilometre, and gets launched with the same starting speed as Cav, I bet he could give him a real good run for his money, even beat...

    Boonen

Mental fatigue I guess, and a slight lack of form. He can still pull off a good sprint in a smaller race, but this is the Tour. And according to himself he's a bit more cautious and afraid of all the pushing and fighting in the sprint preparation, and that's the one thing you can't have in a...

So how many TDF stages will Cav have collected when he is done?

What's the most stages a pure sprinter has ever won? I know Zabel, McEwen and Cipollini all have 12, but there must be others with more? EDIT: Just found out that Freddy Maertens took 16 stages back in the day. Cav will be there in no time...

    Official thread - TdF Stage 11 Vatan - Saint-Fargeau (192 km)

It's about time Silence got a bit of succes, but I doubt Columbia will give them a free pass. But if anyone deserves a Tour stage win, it's Summie :)

Official thread - TdF Stage 4: Team Time Trial (Montpellier - Montpellier 38 km)

Cancellara still in yellow, but 4 Astana riders in the top 5. Andy Schleck already 1'49" behind Armstrong, Evans even 2'59" back. Where will he ever make up such a difference?

Official thread - TdF Stage 4: Team Time Trial (Montpellier - Montpellier 38 km)

Smart riding I'd say. He must have noticed Lance went all out, so why not save some energy for Arcalis? But on the other hand, if Armstrong takes the yellow, will Contador even be allowed to attack on Arcalis?
