The Gianni Moscon Bandwagon Jumping Thread

Re: Re: That makes it alright then. You can only DQ the people who get caught. But you can make the punishment more severe to act as a deterrent.

The Women's Road Racing Thread 2017

Barnes was advised to pick one of the Dutch wheels and stick to it - unfortunately she didn't choose Blaaks. Maybe she could have jumped to Blaak but then the others would have looked to her when the next Dutch rider attacked. It was very disappointing that there was a lack of cooperation from...

Commentary on TNT and other WB brands

Edwards will be the anchor before and after the stage (presumably replacing Ashley House). He won't be doing commentary. I believe he's done that job for the BBC in the past (Olympics, Worlds), Kirby has verbal diarrhea. He should engage his brain more before he speaks.

If its not Clarke its Reichenbach that gets an inordinate amount of namechecks.

    Transfers and Rumours 2016 > 2017

König missed four months at the start of this year due to a knee problem. He was only ever going to be on the Vuelta team this year. He was 5th until he and the rest of the team screwed up on Stage 15. It wasn't as if Sky damaged his GC hopes. He wasn't asked to stay with Froome all the...

    The 2016 Tour of Britain (2.HC) 04/09-11/09/2016

Re: Re: San Sebastián started in 81. Strade Bianche in 2007. Liège–Bastogne–Liège, etc. may have started over 100 years old but it didn't take 100 years for them to be considered 'classics'. Every race has to start somewhere and its up to the riders and fans to determine when it deserves...

Should the grupetto have been DQ'd on Stage 15?

Re: They did. The few times early in the stage the TV showed the third group it was being led by Sky. They were making no dent in catching Froomes group (with hindsight the second group may have been better waiting for the third group). My guess is that only Sky (and probably Orica) from...

Re: Kennett expended all his energy gaining the lap. The next time the pace was lifted he was dropped and eventually he gave up. The cameras showed him a couple of times but the commentators (in the UK at least) missed it.

    2016 TdF, Stage 9: Vielha → Andorra Arcalis (185km)

Re: Re: Henao wasn't dropped yesterday. Today he didn't make the final selection but it was late enough in the climb that Froome didn't need him. He's already helped ensure no team other than Sky had two riders. He was stronger than both Van Garderen and Valverde.

    2016 TdF, Stage 7: L'Isle-Jourdain → Lac de Payolle (163km)

Re: Re: Nonsense. The whole of the lead group was delayed by the 1km inflatable coming down. They were going at full speed (chasing Yates), had to come to a complete stop, get under the banner (mostly one at a time) and then start riding again. The 3km rule could only have been applied if...

    2016 TdF, Stage 7: L'Isle-Jourdain → Lac de Payolle (163km)

Re: They said they were taking the times from 3k so it will take a while to sort it out. Its not just how much time Yates had but also those behind the lead group - including some who made it back to that group by the finish due to the delay.

Re: They raced. It wasn't the cleanest of sprints. Hannah came across Alice at the end causing Alice to sit up. She might have been demoted had it not been her sister. There was a suggestion that Alice might have interfered with Hannah at the start of the sprint but unfortunately the TV...

Worst team of a GT winner

Stetina was a big help to Hesjedal too. He finished 27th and Vande Velde 22nd on GC which are where you might expect decent mountain domestiques to be placed.
