Giro Stage 9: Benevento – S.Giorgio del Sannio 215 kms

Re: Re: No it was a sprint. There is no surprise factor in a sprint because everyone knows its a sprint.

Giro Stage 9: Benevento – S.Giorgio del Sannio 215 kms

If anything it looked like Contador was the one who initiated the 'lets takes turns pulling and distance uran' arrangement. Riders work together all the time and its pretty much expected that when its time to sprint the cooperation is over. Its not like they were all taking turns and when it...

Giro Stage 9: Benevento – S.Giorgio del Sannio 215 kms

Re: Re: I believe Froome put time into AC on 1 GT stage last year, while getting beat on several. Same for Quintana except it was a TTT. In the end, Contador took 1st, Froome 2nd, and Quintana DNF. Now you seem to be referencing things from 2013 when Contador was weak. His team was...

Teams & Riders Vincenzo Nibali discussion thread

Quintana not looking so good in the Vuelta? He was in the leaders jersey when he crashed out I think he was looking fine.

I would say just two two factors aligned for Nibali. His competition and the pavement.

Who will win the 2015 tour de france?

Quintana had Froomes wheel after Puritio took off until the time the group reformed. With 300m to go and Valverde feeling good it would of been a bad move to sacrifice the stage win to maybe save Quintana 1 second. edit: And seriously over the course of the climb Valverde put a lot of time on...

Who will win the 2015 tour de france?

What is this nonsense? Quintana had wheels to follow the whole time. Quintana was only dropped by his rivals in the sprint when Froome really picked it up with <500m to go. It would of been foolish for Valverde/Movistar to have Valverde not contest the sprint just because Quintana isn't much...

    Who wins the 2015 Giro?

You could say it about AC but you would be wrong. And if you believed yourself when you said it you would be ***.

    Rate the 2015 Tour route!

Riders like Purito and other GC contenders on smaller teams already lose pretty big on the shorter TTT's. With a 60-70 km TTT there isn't much point to even enter the race to contend GC unless your on one of the 2 or 3 super rich and stacked GC teams.

Who will win the 2015 tour de france?

This is the stage where he attacked, towed everyone for a while, then went on to win right? That is team tactics, not betrayal. When you have 2 riders that other teams must respect you let one of them attack early to force the other contenders to cover. This weakens them for when the...

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

If he is scared of the cobbles I don't blame him. Road bikes have no business riding on that kind of terrain, yet the cobbles are always interspersed with sufficient standard road such that it would be a huge competitive disadvantage to use a bike that's actually engineered for cobbles...

Who will win the 2015 tour de france?

I remember it. Valverde did absolutely nothing to double cross Quintana.

    Rate the 2015 Tour route!

Pure climbers will win every now and then even with TTs. They just have to dominate the mountains and outclimb everyone. If they don't they don't really deserve to win.

Reducing GT distances to encourage clean riding?

I think this point is somewhere between 0 and 1 km per day
