    Who will win 2013 GIRO?

Nibs had his chance and he came up short, even with more hilly parcours, I wouldn't expect much more from him. Purito though, if his form his there he could inflict some damage on Wiggo if Sky are not Tour-strong.

    UCI's response to USADA report

THe UCI have gotten away with this and their troubled past. The journo's are not asking the right questions and the only people who could hurt them, Lance or Johan, aren't going to worsen their own situation just for the hell of it. Its as good as could be expected, at least the current crop...

Official lance armstrong thread, part 2 (from september 2012)

They're at the Volcano now, Pat just has to throw the ring in. Do it Pat, don't let Hein chop your finger off and take it now.

Official lance armstrong thread, part 2 (from september 2012)

If everyone in US Postal doped, what about other names that have not yet been mentioned. Looking at the roster, Tom Boonen and Ryder Hesjdal are still very much current, guilty too?

Best rider of this year (2012)?

Don't be so blinkered. Cyclists see events like monuments as a massive deal, but the olympics is way more high profile and pressurised. Wiggo has umpteen track golds before he even turned his attention to the the tour, which he proceeded to win. I *think* we can rule out luck. He is a...

Best rider of this year (2012)?

Vino is hero-worshipped on here for some reason, can't see why. He only won the olympics because no-one marked him as he wasn't considered a threat, possibly ;) Schlecks however - can't stand them either and can wholly understand it.

Best rider of this year (2012)?

While I'm pro-Wiggo on this, I can see the arguement for Purito. If he had a stronger team, better tactics and a little luck, we could be talking about a 2 x GT and 3 x monument winner, which would be mighty impressive. Two questions above, one race that Wiggo won that didn't suit him was...

Best rider of this year (2012)?

Come on Purito fanboys, it has to be Wiggo. Rodriquez was clearly strong but he won what, 2 monuments and some stages of the Giro and Vuelta. What he 'almost' won doesn't matter. Wiggo only got beaten once, and he was riding for Porte there, everything he and Sky went for, they cleaned...

    Philippe Gilbert Discussion Thread

I think thats one reason AC does appeal to the fans and other riders, he's going after GC's and only that, but he's such a Gent he can hand over stage wins to his co-racers (not GC competitors) as it may really boost their careers and good for the sport too. Something which seemed to rile Roche...

Will Gilbert be victorious at Cauberg once again?

Everyone, and i include the bookies in that, seems convinced that gilbert has this in the bag. He's 5/4 at some bookies. Boonen is 20/1. I'm not so sure ( and yes i've put my money elsewhere). There are several variables which are unproven. How will he be post-Vuelta, against fresher...

    Andy Schleck Discussion thread.

Bruyneel was right to try and mix it up for Andy, his elastic bond with his brother is part of the problem. What Johan didn't foresee though, was just how fragile poor Andy's confidence was. With Frank you have a runner up to Alberto and Sky, without Frank you have a nobody. May as well put them...

Teams & Riders Mark Cavendish Discussion Thread

Cav might be better than those you mention, but he is not more versatile. He's a weapon in bunch sprints both physically and tactically, but comapred to Sagan, Boonen or even Goss, he can't be considered a versatile sprinter. Thats not a criticism though, he's the best at what he does.

    Tour of Britain

Stage cycling is probably the worst sport ot see live, so don't set expectations too high. Tour of britain is just like the tour de france except there is more shouting from motorbikes as the roads are not closed.

Vuelta 2012, Stage 17: Santander > Fuente Dé (187 km)

Purito dropped the ball not in yesterdays stage but in the rest day. While AC and his gang were out spinning, Purito was tucked up in bed. Ok he let AC go and that was a fairly huge mistake, but if his form had held he would have been able to chase and limit his losses, or even bridge to...

Teams & Riders Chris Froome Discussion Thread.

The Vuelta is obviously turning out to be a great grand tour, but i'm not sure whether all the top four are super-strong, or just not that great and that is what is making such a great race. It would be interesting to see how quick they are getting up the climbs compared to say last year...
