Teams & Riders Nairo Quintana discussion thread

Without trying to imply anything about how good he is relative to Froome, it appears that Quintana is not in a bad spot at all. His strategy looks the same as it was in the 2014 giro, which would make sense from his point of view. He lost time in the first half then, too.

Official lance armstrong thread, part 2 (from september 2012)

Rumor has it he offered to donate blood on 9/11 but New York hospitals refused. Things haven't been well between them since.

Cadel Evans is a Clean Champion

"Clean" might for Hamilton mean something different from "never used any banned substance whatsoever". Perhaps in Hamilton's definition, Indurain was "clean". There is also the common expression " I did not take doping, just something to help recover." The difference would lie not only in the...

LA still has fans at Road Bike Action magazine

Ofcourse, spreading lies about Pantani (who never tested positive for any of his wins) is allowed, because...well, because his relatives don't read english, I suppose.

    The best fanboy comments

The big deal is this: the gloating is a result of the superiority Armstrong and his fans have expressed years back. You may not remember the stupid stories about cadence, practicing mountain stages during christmas, living for the sport 'unlike anyone else', etc. 'New cycling,' it was sometimes...

    Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, 27 Feb 2011

No, I was (and still am) amazed how badly my post was read. I cannot for the love of God understand how in a brain the words 'we have been cheated out of a legendary edition' be transformed into 'it was a legendary edition', aside from completely missing the obvious irony.

An almost-legendary KBK Tyler Farrar was unlucky. Not only did he suffer a puncture, in the finale he chose the wrong line and ended up in 4th place. He was, however, not the only one. Greipel also couldn't find the right wheel and only made it to 3rd place. Amazing. Imagine that both men...

Steakgate latest: Contador positive for Clenbuterol in four different tests

Well, it would be mentioned on the receipt, ofcourse.

    Valverde banned for 2 years?

The problem here seems to be cheering for Vinokourov and Ricco by some unnamed posters. This is identified as hypocrisy because Valverde was demonised. To make this argument work, you have to quote the posters cheering dopers and then saying negative things about Valverde because of his doping...

    Armstrong's Future

Actually, Pantani was acquitted of sporting fraud, but it was part of the verdict that he had used EPO. He just couldn't be tried for it because it wasn't a crime.

An open letter to UCI President Pat McQuaid..

Lots of good posts in this thread, especially the first two.

    Armstrong's Future

To say that Pantani polarized because of "the way he rode" is the biggest pile of dung I've read on this board in a long time. You want to know what polarization is? This, as described so well by Love the Scenery (great post, BTW): You don't seem to realize what an incredible insult it is to...

What would you do if you were Lance?

I disagree he's obligated to say such a thing, or even that it is wise. With most all other Tour winners being able to live their lives quietly and comfortably, Armstrong doesn't have to be an exception, in spite of the deceits he has perpetrated on his fans. There is no convincing reason to...

What would you do if you were Lance?

Not compete in the Tour because of 'lack of form', organize a good farewell charity race and then retire as a racer. He can manage Radioshack, his companies and fund and do PR work.
