If the riders prefers to ride in the mountains than on MSR... that's his choice. Also in our days of marginal gains, riding a 300km classic (even with an easy course) is still a disadvantage compared to e.g. Vingo and he's probably planned to stay at altitude as late as possible making two...

The big factor is that UAE tour has a nice place in the calendar if you want to combine it with Catalunya... Vingo wants to do Catalunya before Giro like everyone, and Remco wants to ride in the mountains with his new team.

i think that if he's riding tirreno, he'll do strade. It's one of his favorite races.
