    USADA - Armstrong

<baffled> how can you be "Editor-in-Chief" off 5 posts? Does it go off username post count or IP address post count?

    LeMond I

Abdou 1'37" off Miguelon over 73km?!? Is that a genuine result or one of those "are you paying attention?" things?

Did Lance try to come back clean?

Maybe I was being too subtle :) Google "Weiss" and "humanplasma". Jan Frodeno called him out on twitter after the race.

Did Lance try to come back clean?

For the record, and I've said this before on here, I always believed he decided to come back when he saw the maillot jaune group go up the Alpe in 42 minutes in 2008 and thought "I can do that clean, prove I'm clean whilst I'm doing it and thus stop all the sniping about my previous wins"...

Did Lance try to come back clean?

<sobbing> It's asking me for a URL. I don't have a link; I was pretty sure LAS' lawyers would get it taken down (he took the raw data down pretty quickly) so I took a screenshot and saved as a .jpg. I appreciate I'm looking pretty stupid here. Can't even attach file to PM.

Did Lance try to come back clean?

I'm looking at a chart produced from his own website blood test data. It's a .jpg file, how can I upload it? basically it's a chart x-axis is HCT (%), y-axis is retics (%). Aug08-May09 all points top left, Jun-Jul09 bottom right. It would appear his body thought it needed more red blood...

Iron Man Hawaii : No Americans at doping control?

Well if it is rife, it isn't working, they aren't beating me by much and I'm not a super athlete. If you take the MPRO telemetry off the SRM site and their running pace at the 70.3 distance where fuel is less of an issue, they are well within the W/kg you'd expect for 80 VO2_max guys. Look...

Iron Man Hawaii : No Americans at doping control?

Can you post the article? I can't understand what your point is. WTC do have a testing programme - not enormously thorough, but doping isn't enormously rife in the sport. They caught Nina Kraft in 2004 so they've shown they're prepared to ding the winner. If your question is why no US...

Power Data Estimates for the climbing stages

By way of control, Wiggins' SRM showed 476W for a 20 minute TT the other week in the UK. Very minor event (for him), no reason why he would treat it specially. No blood taken as far as I know. That puts him ~450w for an alpe d'huez ascent in isolation. See how he goes at the end of a stage...

Kimmage interviews Floyd Landis: Sunday Times + Bombshell NYVC transcript [merged]

The thing we're overlooking is that it isn't possible to go berserk on the cough mixture anymore. Landis' version of the blood bag discard was that it was a management decision because the team were embarrassingly good that year. When someone does party like it's 1999, they are conspicuous...

    Lemond/McIlvain tape

Slightly off-topic, but that's totally untrue. I work for a 70,000 employee organisation, and sit on disciplinary panels (I'm quite senior). We spend a LOT of time worrying about lawsuits. The economic damage is huge - these things swallow massive amounts of senior management time and legal...

Doping raid Operación Galgo: Fuentes Caught...again

If you can find it, get a list of Rio's phone calls between being notified of the test and eventually volounteering to take it. "Interesting", to say the least. Seemed to suggest a heavy Saturday on the marching powder rather than anything else, which would mean a proper hairdyer from Fergie...

    Are Kenyan runners doped?

ChrisE, Read "Born to Run". Amongst the emotional nonsense, there's a quite interesting section on how our ancestors in East Africa hunted, and what adaptations in us (ability to dissipate heat etc) give us an edge. In short, we seem to have some design features which enable us to run down...
